Like us, you’ve seen plenty of iPhone docks, but have you ever seen one made from an NES Controller? I thought not. This cool NES controller iPhone dock was made by iPhone.fr forum member WCR for his new iPhone 3GS.

We have to admit, the iPhone and the NES controller look great together, like a match made in geek heaven. Great work WCR. If it could just play iPhone games while docked….

This just may be the most awesome and nerdiest chess set ever. You’re looking at Paul Fryer’s Vacuum Tube Chess set. It’s one of only seven made. The pieces actually light up when they’re plugged in to the board.

How cool is that? The only thing that sucks is that you would need to replace blown tubes from time to time, but we don’t care. We just wanna play chess with Vacuum tubes that really light up.

This Hellboy Xbox 360 case mod is awesome. And very very red. It was made by Frank Gonzales, who has previously created a Gears of War and other case mods. He really outdid himself with this one. It looks as if it has just clawed it’s way free from hell and is ready for some serious gaming.

My first reaction upon seeing this was to wonder where the horns were, but it is absolutely perfect as it is.

An R2D2 Pez Dispenser is a pretty cool geek toy by itself. But it’s even better when that R2 Pez dispenser is also a USB flash drive. Candy + storage = Awesome. More impressive, it is still a working Pez dispenser.

It can’t hold quite as much as an un-tampered with dispenser, but that’s still pretty awesome, because the lost candy is replaced with storage. It can only hold 3 pieces of Pez. Hey, the important thing is that it can hold any at all. It will hold 2GB of data.

Put together two iconic classics and you can never go wrong. In this case it’s the iPod and the Atari 2600. The homemade dock puts the iPod connector where the cartridge used to go,(you’re probably using your cartridges as wallets anyway).

How could this be better? With the iPhone of course. With an LCD in the middle so you could play iPhone games properly with controllers. When iPod and Atari 2600′s meet, it’s like geek destiny. It’s a love that will endure forever.

Etsy seller Nilesz recycles Atari cartridges into wallets. So you can pay for that cartridge all over again in the now. Yep, that’s a real cartridge. It now holds money as well as 80s memories. Nilesz says that “the only piece of the original game not used in the wallet design is the screw.”

It’s a fat wallet, but that just means it holds more stuff. He even made a promo video for them below. They sell for $40 – $80 depending on the rarity/popularity of a game.

Political statement or just a literary mod? You decide. Most gamers are well aware former attorney Jack Thompson’s stance on gaming. It’s nice to see that his book embraces gaming at long last, with a little help from Mattigus, a user on the Halflife2.Net forums who is simply brilliant.

Don’t worry. He bought the book used on eBay, so no 13-cent royalty for Mr. Thompson. It was also a library book, which not surprisingly, was never even checked out. It is an actual functioning mod.

This casemod combines the shell of an old SNES console with the brains and guts of a modern PC. Anytime we see a CD sticking out of an SNES cartridge, we can’t help but smile. Modders quangDX and DuPPs took an old Super Nintendo and merged it with an Acer Aspire One A150 laptop. They call their new creation the aaSNES1.

And yes, they managed to mount a slot-loading DVDRW drive inside of the Super Mario World cartridge! But it wasn’t that simple. They didn’t have enough room inside the UK model SNES cartridge, but managed to cut things apart enough to get the drive to work. The eject button even ejects the DVD.

Sure, the PSP Go! looks awesome. It’s slimmer, lighter, has downloads instead of UMD. But where’s the full QWERTY keyboard? Acidmods forum member folklord36’s PSP Laptop does have QWERTY, thanks to an Xbox Chat Pad. It also has relocated speakers, LED lighting and more.

The screen section is a modified Joytech visor that has the same finish as the PSP, and its sturdy hinge can be positioned at anything up to 180-degrees. We don’t know how long it took him to create this or how much it cost, but we wouldn’t mind having one ourselves.

The Nintendo Game and Watch is fun, but the replay value really sucks. So why not turn it into a TV? Inside this gutted Nintendo Game and Watch Donkey Kong Jr. is a mini television, complete with LCD display.

The only problem seems to be that there wasn’t any room to keep the TV’s front-mounted speakers in place, so sound is provided by a ginormous external speaker that’s about 3 times the size of the Game and Watch. I dub thee Nintendo Game and Watch and TV and Speaker.

With this and the Scan Toaster, your entire breakfast can be a work of art. Sadly, we can’t find any details for this thing, just the Flickr photostream. We need more of these by Easter next year. Looks like you can swap out any color marker for another.

This owl earbud holder gives a hoot and he won’t pollute your desktop. In fact, he will help keep your desk tidy by holding your earbuds all neat like. It’s a DIY project that’s simple to do. Just take a piece of wood, cut several holes in it, and make it look like an owl. Then wrap your portable MP3 earbuds around it. It’s cute.

Much cuter than my solution which is wires all over my desk in a huge mass that is more puzzle than usable gadget cords. To each their own.

We aren’t sure why…this exists. We can only guess that some of you have already grown nostalgic about your old VHS cassette tapes. It’s a super easy mod, should you want one for yourself. If you love VHS so much, you can probably just pluck one of these off your entertainment center.

A little work and presto, you’ve got a USB storage device that looks like a VHS tape with a wire tail. It’s super easy. You are basically just connecting the USB cable to a thumb drive inside the tape, wiring some circuit board and that’s it. Total cost is $10-15. Video below.
