New Olympus camera offers 20x wide angle zoom |
Another new digital camera…we know. This time around Olympus brought us word this week of the Olympus SP-570 UZ, priced at around $500. The company notes this particular model for its 20x, wide-angle optical zoom (26-520mm equivalent).
The SP-570UZ, besides the optical zoom, offers up an impressive 10-megapixels coupled with a f2.8-4.5 lens. You get a bevy of advanced features with this particular Olympus model, including a 2.7-inch LCD with anti-glare, dual image stabilization, face detection, shadow adjustment and full manual control.

This new model builds on the popular K10D with an array of improvements including 14.6 effective megapixels, a large 2.7″ display, a finer JPEG format, and Live View giving the full image area in the display. The K20D even has an improved Dust Reduction system with a feature called Dust Alert, which not only informs the photographer of the presence of dust particles but will also pinpoint their exact location.
