IOGEAR has a new and innovative on-lap wireless keyboard. The GKM571R-581R 2.4 GHz allows wireless connectivity for laptops, HTPCs, HDTVs and your game consoles. It’s also been contoured to fit anyone’s lap. It has a 1,000 DPI trackball, left and right mouse click buttons, a scroll wheel, and a USB port for recharging its NimH batteries or uploading new content.

These days you have your choice of computing interfaces and platforms, but maybe you’re looking for something a bit different. Something retro that still incorporates your modern gear. If that’s the case, check out this antique typewriter that has been modified to work as a USB Keyboard for your PC, Mac, or iPad. It’s fully functional computer keyboard. But also a typewriter.

It not only looks awesome with an iPad on it, it will work with all letters, numbers, and punctuation marks and includes shift, space, and return carriage, which is really activated by the typewriter’s return carriage. Beware Panda attacks if using this Bamboo Keyboard and mouse combo from Chinavasion. It is too tempting a treat for Pandas, who will want to eat it for dinner. The laser engraved bamboo keys apparently absorb sweat, stay clean and feel comfortable, while being environmentally friendly.

They do look pretty nice and it beats cold plastic any day. This combo will cost you $33.44. Just plug them into your USB ports and you are good to go.

Soundproof Keyboard Cover

If you end up working late into the night, typing away and annoying those who are near you, you might want to check out the Soundproof Keyboard Cover. Sure, it looks absurd, but we hope that the $36 investment will bring some peace to the ears around you.

It supposedly reduces the noise from typing and will also prevent dust from getting in between your keys. It’s probably not very comfortable though. Your hands will likely feel cramped. But if noise is a problem, this may be a good solution.

Why type on the front of your keyboard when you can type on the back? The Grippity keyboard allows you to do just that. All while looking stylish and futuristic. It would take some getting used to though. You might type slow at first.

It’s available for pre-order for $60 right now. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to get it in time for Christmas as it is set for a February delivery. We think it looks worth the wait.

IOGEAR has introduced a pair of new wireless keyboards for your HTPC. The GKM571R and GKM581R both feature interesting designs. These wireless keyboards also feature 2.4GHz wireless technology, an optical trackball and a 1200dpi sensor along with a scroll wheel.

The IOGEAR GKM571R keyboard sports a lid for dust protection and an LED backlight, while the GKM581R features a slip resistant rubber bottom. The IOGEAR GKM571R and GKM581R are priced at $99.95 and $89.95.

Razer unveils Anansi MMO gaming keyboard

The latest keyboard to enter the MMO market from Razer is the Anansi. It looks like a typical jet black board with a standard layout, but those seven thumb modifier keys will raise your game. There’s also over 100 programmable Hyperesponse keys with on-the-fly macro recording.

Aside from that you get storage for up to 20 gaming profiles, five bonus gaming keys and 16 million color backlight illumination. It ships worldwide in December for $99.99.

Computer keyboards can contain up to five times the amount of bacteria as toilet seats, or so we’ve heard. Germs are having a filthy and nasty party all over the keyboard. If you want to be healthy you better crash that party.

Computer cases can be dirt-cheap and fall apart easily or they can cost more than some pre-built computers do to purchase. The difference is how they look on the outside and how they perform on the inside. Cooler Master has some of those crazy expensive cases and it has some cheap offerings like the new HAF 912.

If you are a computer geek that likes to upgrade your hardware frequently, you are probably like me and have a number of older HDDs sitting around with data on them that you don’t want to delete. The problem is if I need data off those old drives I have to open my computer and dig around for another SATA cable and power cable to get the thing running.

Sharkoon has unveiled a new computer case called the Bandit that has a very cool feature. That feature is an integrated SATA docking station on top. You can take any SATA HDD and just plug it into the integrated dock to access data from the HDD. The case also has an integrated memory card reader.

Lian Li PC-Q11 mini-tower chassis debuts

Lian Li has announced another new computer case for people that want a small computer. The new case is called the PC-Q11 and it looks like it would make a nice little HTPC case in the living room or desktop for a cramped office.

The case comes in four different colors including red, silver, black, and piano white. The case measures 200mm x 326mm x 260mm and weighs 2.42kg. Supported mainboards include Mini ITX and mini DTX. The case is made from 1.5mm aluminum panels and has various features to reduce vibration and make the chassis quiet.
