Viewsonic Diamani DUO LCD monitor for watching mediaConsumers are starting to watch more movies and TV shows on their monitors these days. Rather than get up and hang out in the rec room where little Billy might be playing on his PlayStation or Grandpa is watching the news, we’re finding it more convenient to stay seated, a click away from downloading the new episode of “Lost” or sliding a movie disc in our DVD/HD-DVD/Blu-ray drive. Viewsonic is going after that segment of the home market with the launch of its Diamani DUO series of monitors which are now on sale.

DataGlass Delivers Mobile PC Experience

DataGlass 3/A monitorThis nifty head-mounted display reminds me of those old “Deep Space Nine” episodes where the bad guys would use these things to see Federation ships attack them. For us lowly terrestrials in the early 21st century, Shimadzu’s DataGlass 3/A was designed so that workers in wet or dusty environments could use the functionality of a PC on the jobsite.

Weighing 120 grams, the DataGlass delivers SVGA/VGA graphics consistent with a 10 or 14-inch monitor. You don’t even need to remove your glasses to use it or worry about it getting rained on.

Connection is made via USB cable so you can be talking on the headset to Ralph back inside the office, scanning bar codes in with your data entry gun and calling up the SKU of the item in front of you all at the same time. Of course, we see it more being …

The WOWvx displays provide a 3-dimensional looking picture that’s viewable with the naked eye without the need for any type of special 3D glasses and will likely draw more of your attention when you first see one than would a standard 2D display.

The 20-inch model has two versions, one as a frame-mount for the wall (20-3D2W01) and the other with a bezel and stand for a desktop (20-3D2W04). This type of 3D display technology is not necessarily new but Philips is one of the first to market the product …

Dell W2707WFP Leaked first lookIn what was apparently a mistake the image for the Dell 20″ monitor was mistakingly replaced with an image for a 27″ monitor.

In a posting on a Dell Forum an employee of Dell indicated that the image was from a training manual for the “not yet released W2707C.”

It appears to have a 1920 by 1200 native resolution. This is the same as the existing Dell 24″ models. The image from Dell’s site reveals the inputs to W2707 to be very similar to the 2407 that SlipperyBrick has in-house. …
