Vodafone’s 845 Android phone has just leaked online. We know that it will be affordable and it might ship with Vodafone 360 social networking support. The budget Android-powered smartphone is scheduled to hit the market in May sometime.

Some features include a 2.8″ QVGA display, 3G and Wi-Fi, GPS navigation support, a 3.2-megapixel camera and Bluetooth. It’s looking like the Vodafone 845 will be €150 on pay as you go at launch.

Samsung’s 360 H1 is now available from Vodafone UK. One of the more interesting features is that it will be getting a Pizza Hut application very soon, allowing you to order pizza directly from the phone. Just like with your iPhone.

The application will bill the order directly to your phone bill, so be careful. You don’t want to leave your phone lying around so your friends can order pizza. Orders up to £30 are accepted and you’ll get a 20% discount each time.

Vodafone will be introducing their 14.4 Megabit mobile broadband service nationwide and they will be the first UK telco provider to do it as well. Of course, major city centres will be the first to benefit from it, including London, Birmingham and Liverpool.

Vodafone reports “over 80%” of all its datacards/dongles and 3G handsets can take advantage of the new speeds. Customers would have to settle for typical speeds that range from 1Mbps to 4 Mbps, hitting a practical maximum speed of 10.8Mbps.

Palm has officially announced the release of the first major revision to the Palm hardware with the new Treo 500v 3G smartphone, coming to Europe via Vodafone October 1. The new sleek looking Treo will come in two different colors of glacier white or charcoal grey.

The 500v will be running on Windows Mobile 6 and supports Direct Push along with POP3 for email connections. It also houses IE mobile with access to Google Maps and eBay and will have Vodafone live! for accessing sports, news, etc.

The hardware on this model lacks a touchscreen (and Wi-Fi), but does have a 2 megapixel camera, 150MB of internal memory and a microSD card slot for capacity expanding. There is a weird story developing on the The Unofficial Apple Weblog that seems to be impossible but, well, there it is. The TUAW guy claims to have used an application called iASign and a prepaid AT&T card, taken it down to his UK-based Vodafone retailer, got them to recognize the sim card inside an o2XDA phone he brought with him, went back home, popped out the AT&T card and put it inside his iPhone. And now he’s making phone calls on the Vodafone network using the Apple iPhone. Supposedly this should be impossible to do. There has been a couple of hiccups; he’s had no luck getting video or visual voicemail to play on the iPhone via Voda’s network but he can mail images. It’s not quite an unlocked iPhone but time well tell if other international sim cards can also …

Vodafone can add yet another service to its growing family of mobile applications. In a recent announcement from the mobile telecommunications company, Vodafone Live! will now offer Google Maps for mobile in addition to Google Search.

In the agreement, Vodafone and Google will develop a location-based version of Google Maps for mobile. The service is expected to offer customers access to maps, local listings, local search, and navigation capabilities. Google and Vodafone are also developing a service that provides customers on selected handsets with an automatic user-location capability.

Other enhancements include changes to Vodafone’s multimedia portal, Vodafone live. These changes will include search technology from Google that enables customers to access both on-portal and off-portal sites in the wider mobile internet.

A version of YouTube mobile will soon be available to Vodafone customers in the U.K.

The YouTube mobile service for Vodafone will include a new selection of popular videos each day. Customers will be able to upload their own content from their mobile phones, forward links of videos to friends, and search through video content.
