Sidekick iD From T-Mobile

Posted in Sidekick ID, T-Mobile by Darrin Olson on April 14th, 2007

Sidekick iD official announced from T-MobileT-Moibile has officially announced the release of the latest Sidekick product called the Sidekick iD. SlipperyBrick reported on some rumors of pictures and specs of the ID about a week ago and it looks like they turned out to be pretty accurate.

The Sidekick iD is a scaled down version of the feature set you would find in the LRG Sidekick or D-Wade Sidekick versions, and also comes with a scaled down price of $99 with a 2 year service plan and the Sidekick data plan. This version of the Sidekick looses some of the “extras” like a digital camera, Bluetooth, and MP3 player and the ability to expand the memory.

It does keep up with the communication aspects of the device, though. The design is the same with the flip up screen, full QWERTY keyboard and support for email, 3 …

Sidekick ID in Colors

Sidekick ID with more new colors from T-MobileSome pictures of the new Sidekick ID from T-Mobile found it’s way into Engadget’s hands via a friendly tipster who found the pictures on a rebate form on the T-Mobile website. The images show the Sidekick sporting three different solid colors of blue, pink and yellow, which seem a little bland compared the recent releases of the limited edition D-Wade and LRG.

Rumors have been floating that the Sidekick ID design will have less “frills” that its Sidekick 3 predecessors by lacking Bluetooth, memory expansion, an MP3 player or a camera. The Sidekick ID will however have all the communication wonders that the SK3 boasts such as IM clients, email, a web browser and phone capabilities, of course.

The simple design along with the rebate indicate that these Sidekick’s might be targeting the more price-sensitive shoppers who would …

The MotoRIZR Launches

Posted in Mobile Phones, Motorola, T-Mobile by Chetz on March 22nd, 2007

Motorola MotoRIZR launched from T-MobileT-Mobile has rolled out a new phone for a price package that costs just a hair under $100.

The MotoRIZR is a mobile that comes with a 1.9-inch screen, 2.0 megapixel camera, 8x digital zoom lens, built-in flash, stereo Bluetooth, quad-band GSM, a voice-activated dialing feature, photo caller ID, speakerphone option, video capture/playback, calculator and calendar software and a 128 MB microSD card. The battery life is good for about three hours talking time (and a standby life of eight days.)

The price for the MotoRIZR is $249.99 but T-Mobile is shaving off a $100 discount and a $50 rebate right now bringing the total to a penny less than one hundred beans if you sign up for the two-year contract option. That’s definitely not a bad price for a slider phone using Motorola technology.

Limited Edition D-Wade Sidekick 3T-Mobile recently announced a new Limited Edition Sidekick 3, this one being designed by Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat. The number three of the Sidekick has some significance with Wade since it matches the number of years he’s been in the NBA, the number on his jersey and references his 3-point plays on the court. Also, Dwayne Wade has been a Sidekick 3 user for a number of years.

The new Sidekick 3 is white with copper accents and the back of the device has been created to look and feel like the surface of a basketball. Aside from the court, Wade’s design of the new Limited Edition Sidekick was also inspired by his love of high-end automobiles and the white and bronze contrasting colors found on Miami Beach.
