Sony Ericsson MH907 motion activated headphones

Posted in Sony Ericsson by Conner Flynn on September 21st, 2009

Sony Ericsson MH907 motion activated headphonesSony Ericsson has unveiled the first ever motion activated headphones. The Sony Ericsson MH907 uses the SensMe Control technology to respond without pressing any buttons. The idea is that you have the two headphones in your ears and are listening to music as you normally would.

But if you want to pause the music, you can remove one ear bud to pause it. To start listening to the music again just place it back in your ear. Is it just me or are these the Stupidest headphones ever? When I’m listening to music, my hands are usually busy. It would be very annoying to have to constantly mess with what is already safely in my ear just to do things like pause a track.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 Rachael specs unveiledYou might remember the Sony Ericsson Rachael, SE’s first Android smartphone. Its official name might be Sony Ericsson Xperia X3, and not Xperia X5, as some have previously thought. Anyway, back when we Showed you the device, we didn’t have a lot of info on it’s features.

Here are some highlights. Android OS, 800×400 touch display, 3.5G (10Mbps), 8 Megapixel camera with autofocus and AGPS. There’s no mention the CPU speed, or graphics acceleration. Right now the price and release date are a mystery, but you can pre-order it so obviously it’s coming very soon.

Sony Ericsson Bao handset

Posted in Sony Ericsson by Conner Flynn on July 6th, 2009

Sony Ericsson Bao handsetI’m calling this new Sony Ericsson handset the preferred handset of Stealth fighter pilots since it seemingly has so many angles that it might evade radar. It reminds us the Nokia 7070 aside from the clamshell format. One thing is for sure, it stands out from the pack.

We don’t have much info on this one. Just that the Sony Ericsson Bao comes with a built-in camera. A launch date is still likely a long way off. I don’t know about you, but I like the angles.

Sony Ericsson “Kiki” handset

Posted in Sony Ericsson by Conner Flynn on July 5th, 2009

Sony Ericsson "Kiki" handsetThis leaked handset is the Sony Ericsson Kiki. It’s interesting for a few reasons and the design is nothing like we’ve seen from Sony Ericsson. For one thing, the screen is made of glass and the screen image appears to be projected onto the glass surface for more in depth images. You’ll also notice the lack of keys.

How it works, we aren’t sure, but with the lack of keys we’re guessing it isn’t a full feature smartphone.

Sony Ericsson dropping Memory Stick Micro for MicroSD

Posted in Sony Ericsson by Conner Flynn on June 1st, 2009

Sony Ericsson dropping Memory Stick Micro for MicroSDSony Ericsson had already given us a clue as to where it was headed, by including only microSD in its recently announced Satio, and Yari and Aino phones. Now TrustedReviews has info straight from the source. SE is ditching Sony’s Memory Stick Micro format in favor of the more standard microSD.

Whether it will be a clean break, we don’t know, but Sony Ericsson Global Marketing Director Fortuné Alexander said that the company is “moving in that direction,”.

Sony Ericsson Yari and Aino

Sony Ericsson Yari and AinoSure, the big news from Sony Ericsson today was regarding the Satio, but they have more tricks up their sleeve. The Yari and Aino might sound like some Japanese dynamic duo, but in fact they are the companies latest phones in the higher end of the range.

The Yari slider on the left is touted as a gaming device, with gesture-control similar to the Wii. It sports a 2.4-inch display, GPS, and support for PlayNow services. It should be available in the fourth quarter for about $558 unlocked.

Sony Ericsson's W205, the newest walkmanSony’s got a brand new walkman phone dubbed the W205. It will do all the usual stuff like displaying the album art with ID3 tags of the tracks that are playing. Some other features are the Opera browser, speaker phone and Bluetooth. I have to admit it looks pretty good with the 1.8 inch display screen.

The phone also sports a 1.3 megapixel camera with 2.2 X digital zoom and a video recorder. Sadly it’s available only in black. You’ll get a sufficient 5 MB of memory with up to 2GB memory expansion with a M2 card.

Sony Ericsson intros round cellphone speaker

Posted in Sony Ericsson by Conner Flynn on March 17th, 2009

Sony Ericsson intros round cellphone speakerIt’s round. It’s a speaker. It’s from Sony Ericsson. I’ll be honest, I don’t get these cell phone speakers, but Sony Ericsson thinks that you will want the MS500, so you can share music with your friends and whatnot.

It’s exactly what it looks like, a round portable speaker that connects to your phone via Bluetooth to play your tunes wherever you happen to be. It can hang on your belt loop with the included strap, and has 5 hours of battery life. Tell me honestly dear reader, do any of you actually use these cell phone speakers? I don’t. I just don’t get it myself.

Sony Ericsson’s “Reese” flip QWERTY smartphone?

Posted in Sony Ericsson by Conner Flynn on February 15th, 2009

Sony Ericsson’s “Reese” flip QWERTY smartphone? If the above picture is to be believed, Sony Ericsson will soon be releasing a new swivel QWERTY called the “Reese” that features one-click access to all of “your favorite networking sites.” There aren’t many other details beyond this.

Therefore, we aren’t quite sold just yet. The large portrait screen would allow you to view several messages of any one kind in HD. If it exists, it’s too early to pin down an OS, but it is possible it could be Windows Mobile or even Android. But honestly if this is real, it isn’t that exciting.
