Sony Ericsson ultra-slim T700 3G mobile phone
The Sony Ericsson T700 is now official. And officially sexy. They obviously took a page from Apples design team. Measuring only 10mm thick, the slim candybar phone boasts 3G connections and high speed HSDPA. The handset also offers a 3.2MP camera, stereo Bluetooth, two speakers and a memory stick slot. It will also geotag photos, but instead of packing full GPA, it uses cell-tower data to roughly work out your position. The Sony Ericsson Ultra-slim T700 phone should be available in the fourth quarter of 2008.

Sony Ericsson is the greenest electronics company

Sony Ericsson is the Greenest Electronics Company
Sony Ericsson has won the honor of the greenest electronics company around. They finished on top of Greenpeace’s Greener Electronics Guide, going beyond Energy Star requirements. All of its models are PVC-free and they banned the most harmful chemicals from their phones since January 2008. It was really no competition, as the scores of others plummeted badly.

In fact, surprisingly, or perhaps not so surprising to some, Sony Ericsson was the only company that scored more than 5 out of 10 in the Greener Electronics Guide. The guide judges tech companies on recycling programs, use of harmful chemicals and energy waste. So who was at the bottom of the list? Microsoft and Nintendo, thanks to Microsoft’s very low score on climate and Nintendo’s Wii being an energy pig. There’s always next time if they clean up their act.

Sony Ericsson X1 Phone on Video
Boy Genius got his hands on a video along with some new pictures of the Sony Ericsson X1 phone. The handset sports a 800 x 480 screen, optical joystick, and HSDPA support. BGR hates the keyboard, saying it’s not absolutely terrible, but one of the worst.

The video is pretty clever with a bad version of the Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour being played, lots of paper airplanes and other nonsense. Watch the video below.

Sony Ericsson F305, all about the games
Sony Ericsson is launching a new gaming phone named the F305. It’s a quad-band GSM phone with support for EDGE network speeds, Memory Stick Micro slot, 2-inch 176 x 220 display and music playback, a built-in accelerometer for motion controlled games. Comes with Bowling, Bass fishing & Jockey, which all use motion control.

To play, just mimic the actual motion, just like how you use the Wii. I like that the face buttons are all game-oriented. It will be announced on the 17th and should drop in the 3rd quarter of the year.

Sony Ericsson W700
Stun guns that look like phones are nothing new, but they usually look pretty crappy. That’s not the case with this Sony Ericsson W700. It looks normal, but has a stun button that delivers a 900,000-volt electric shock via two small metal prongs.

British Police recently confiscated this W700 phone and it’s the first time we are hearing about a Sony Ericsson W700 stun gun. The price seems to be between $50 and $100. Interestingly, UK police use 50,000V stun guns. The police were shocked to find it.
The 21-year-old man was charged with aggravated burglary of a business and possessing an offensive weapon.

Sony Ericsson launches stylish T280 and T270 mobiles

Sony Ericsson launched the T280 and T270 mobile phones sporting some styleBuilding on the appeal of the T610 mobile phone, Sony Ericsson today launched a couple of new candy bar handsets that throw a little more style into the business mix of mobile phones with the T270 and the T280.

Both 13mm thin pocket-sized handsets are basically the same aside from one of them featuring a 1.3 megapixel camera and the other does not. Launching a new mobile phone without a built-in camera is almost unheard of these days but Sony Ericsson says that the T270 model has the “all business” person in mind who just needs the essentials. With camera phones becoming more popular some corporations, including one I used to work for, has banned the use of mobile phones that have cameras built in. For those situations the T270 is well positioned.

Sony Ericsson MBS-100 Bluetooth Speaker

Posted in Bluetooth, Sony Ericsson, Speakers by Reuben Drake on October 11th, 2007

Sony Ericsson MBS-100 Bluetooth speakerSony Ericsson is touting this portable speaker stating it “looks as good as it sounds”, which makes us worry a little bit about the “sound” part. The 100mm sphere can connect wirelessly from your mobile phone through the A2DP Bluetooth stereo audio profile allowing you to stream music saved on your phone directly to the speaker and share your sounds without wires.

The 1.5 watt speaker in the MBS-100 is powered by a rechargeable battery that gives it up to 5 hours of playback with as many hours of charge time, or 50 hours of standby. It also comes packaged with a charger and a carrying bag so people don’t think you have some rotting fruit you’re carrying around. The specs say it comes in a single color of black but the press kit photos seem to have a touch of brown to them.

According to the prestigious Financial Post newspaper Sony Ericsson is considering making a PlayStation phone to appeal to the gamer savvy market. The statement was said by the company’s outgoing president, Miles Flint, who added “We need to make sure that it is a credible phone, and be sure we are justified in putting that identity on it.”

Two New Additions to Walkman Phones

Posted in Sony Ericsson, Walkman by Chetz on June 15th, 2007

Sony Ericsson W910i WalkmanSony Ericsson got the mobile phone community buzzing yesterday by announcing two new Walkman phones in its family lineup. After listening to what the company had to say about what these two kids can do, we too felt that same buzz in our bones.

The W910i is a HSDPA Walkman phone that’s being targeted for gameheads, webheads music aficionados that like to get interactive with their hardware. The two main new features are SensMe, which allows you to pick tracks by tempo or rhythm instead of by artist or album, letting you get your groove on and remain in genre; and something called the “Shake control” which lets you randomize your tracks or skip to the next song by shaking the device all about. It’s like a Wii-mote except that you can talk to your friends and browse on it too! A 1 GB …

USPTO reveals PSP Phone

PSP Phone reveiled by drawing and us patent office websiteA recent patent application filing at the US patent office by Sony Ericsson reveals what looks to be a PSP phone. This does kinda’ make sense since everything is moving toward integrating with a mobile phone lately. Also, it’s been difficult to take a traditional mobile phone and integrate games with it, so why not go the other way around and integrate a phone into an existing mobile game design.

It looks like that’s what Sony Ericsson is up to. The PSP is already designed well as a portable game system with the wide screen layout and buttons on either side. In this case they have pictured a rotating screen which would be key for getting the wide screen for gaming, watching movies, etc. It looks like the potential PSP phone could also be used as …
