Plantronics has announced an interesting speakerphone in the Calisto 825 speakerphone, which is optimized for use with Microsoft Office Communicator and Lync. It is designed for private and home office workers who use multiple communication devices to collaborate effectively.

The Calisto 825 has a unique wireless microphone that provides superior speakerphone audio quality as well as freedom of movement. The unit also produces unmatched audio quality and premium sound using echo and advanced noise cancellation technology. The Calisto 825 will cost you $259.95.

Way back in 2008 I mentioned the then new GameCom 777 USB virtual 5.1 surround sound headset. The headset was for gamers and had a USB amp and normal mic and headphone plugs too. Plantronics has announced a new updated version of the GameCom 777.

The new version of the headset has the same design and also has the USB amp included. The main difference is the new version has simulated 7.1-surround sound. The headset has a hide-away mic that’s out of the way when you don’t need it.

AudioIQ is a technology that claims to reduce background noise up to 50 percent. For incoming calls, AudioIQ adapts to background noise levels and improves the receive quality, clarity, and volume level. For outgoing calls, AudioIQ reduces background noise for listeners up to 7-8 decibels, or by approximately 50 percent.
