Compact Pentax Optio A40 sports 12-megapixels

Pentax Optio A40Pentax this week unveiled a new 12-megapixel, compact digital camera. The Pentax Optio A40 is priced at around $300.

The Pentax Optio A40 offers up a 1/1.7 inch CCD for a wider light receiving area. It is outfitted with three types of shake reduction – mechanical, digital, movie – to help with better shots under adverse photo taking conditions. There’s also a face recognition function with several modes which help better detect and focus on facial shots.

Pentax Optio A30In advance of the super-sexy sounding Photo Marketing Association International Trade Show (that’s PMA to the cool kids in the photo club), Pentax has revealed the specs on two new cameras, the Optio A30 and the waterproof W30.

The A30 is DivX certified, has a 1 1/8-inch CCD sensor, 3X smc Pentax zoom lens, improved Shake Reduction technology for low-light and telephoto shots, Face Recognition software and can grab 10.0 megapixels of resolution for your photos. For its worth the W30 also incorporates Face Recognition technology and has enough battery time for two hours underneath the waves. You can also grab images underwater up to 10 feet away (at 7.1 megapixels resolution) and for those close-up shots of your fishy friends, it can capture clear macro images at under half-an-inch away from the lens.

Pentax Releases Optio T30 and M30 Point And Shoot Cameras

Pentax Optio T30Today Pentax released two new digital cameras to their line of point and shoot models.

The Pentax Optio T30 (pictured top) is a thin camera sporting a 3 inch touch screen LCD monitor. The large touch screen panel has built-in drawing functionality to edit images directly on the camera, and also functions as the menu navigation interface. The touch screen, which is the main feature in this model, has 230,000 pixels packed into the 3 inch space and offers a 170 degree viewing angle. The T30 has facial recognition and auto focusing along with a Digital Shake Reduction technology which all contribute to simple, clear and focused pictures.
