Nokia unveils Booklet 3G netbook |
There are only a few categories in the consumer electronics market that are still doing well during the global recession. Two of the most robust categories are netbooks and smartphones. Netbook sales are booming and most computer makers and several companies who aren’t computer makers are getting in on the action.
Nokia has finally announced the netbook it has been teasing in meetings for a while. The machine is called the Nokia Booklet 3G. The big claim for the netbook is that is has 12 hours of battery life.


There have been rumors floating around about a possible netbook from Nokia. And now it seems like the rumors may have at least some basis in reality. A Finnish blog named Puhelinvertailu has uncovered some trademark registrations that may shed some light on upcoming Nokia products, including a Nokia laptop computer, which could be the netbook.

The Symbian S60-based smartphone is aimed at social media enthusiasts and features a full QWERTY keyboard, a browser with Flash support, and the pre-installed JuiceCaster app for easily updating your Facebook / Twitter status.

The economy has been very tough on many technology companies. Some of the largest companies in the industry have been hit hard and forced to lay off workers and report losses. Cellular infrastructure provider Nortel was forced into bankruptcy by the global economy.

On Tuesday Nokia added the 6600i slide to its roster. It’s Nokia’s smallest slider yet, with a 5-megapixel camera that includes dual LED flashes. That brushed-metal housing should get your slider some attention. It also has a tap interface for quickly waking the phone, muting alerts and ringtones, as well as turning down calls.
Nokia’s upcoming 7020 clamshell phone is a fashion phone that boasts a 2.2-inch TFT display with 240 x 320 resolution, an external display with 128 x 160 resolution, 2MP camera, 45MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, an MP3/MPEG-4 player, stereo FM radio and a standard Li-Ion 860 mAh battery.
