iPAQ 210 Enterprise PDA from HP

HP iPAQ 210 Enterprise edition handheld PDAHP has unleashed a bunch of new devices today such as the iPAQ 310 Companion and this new iPAQ 210 Enterprise PDA. The new 210 combines a large color display, a serious handful of processing power and Wi-Fi connectivity to provide a powerful tool targeting business customers.

Both the 200 and the 100 series iPAQ’s were released today, all running Windows Mobile 6 Classic on color touchscreens with 64MB of RAM and 256MB of ROM inside. They also feature a Marvell PXA310 624MHz CPU, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and support Bluetooth.

HP launches iPAQ 310 Travel companion handheld GPS unitToday HP launched its 300 series portable GPS units through the iPAQ 310 Travel Companion, featuring a 4.3-inch touchscreen interface on a 3D, turn-by-turn navigation system.

The iPAQ 310 shows off some fast response times by housing a Centrality Titan 600MHz processor and 128MB SDRAM with 2GB of Flash ROM, running on Windows CE 5.0. The memory can be expanded with a microSD card slot to hold your additional media of pictures, songs and video to look at during those special, non-navigating moments with your GPS. It also has built-in Bluetooth which allows you to use the unit has a hands free phone answering system through its microphone and speaker along with your Bluetooth enabled phone.

The navigation software features turn-by-turn directions announcing the actual street names along the way with text-to-speech to help keep your eyes on the road. …

HP 35s Handheld calculator for 35th anniversaryToday HP launched a retro-styled calculator in commemoration of the companies 35th anniversaryo of selling handheld calculators. The new HP 35s has an old-school design that looks similar to the original HP 35 handheld calculator but functionality is actually the companies most advanced scientific programmable calculator. The original HP 35 was launched in 1972 and was the first consumer product launched from HP, basically putting the slide rule to rest for good.

The new HP 35s handheld calculator is actually full of functionality with over 800 storage registers, multiple built-in functions, large display and buttons among other features, and comes with a zipper pouch. Then nostalgic and new 35th anniversary calculator from HP will be available for purchase late this summer, retailing for $59.99.

HP iPAQ Voice Messenger 500 series mobile phoneToday HP announced a new iPAQ smartphone to their product lineup featuring voice control and hands-free functions along with any array of wireless connectivity.

The new iPAQ 500 series Voice Messenger phones can understand over 20 different voice commands, include a voice reply command that allows the user to dictate their voice into an email message and send it, never having to key anything into the phone. The voice commands also control navigation of the phones menus and will read email and text messages so the user can listen to them instead of reading them.

The new iPAQ runs on the new Windows Mobile 6 OS and supports VoIP via built-in WiFi, “push” email, Bluetooth and GSM/EDGE.

hp labs announces new nanotechnology chip manufacturing processHewlett-Packard, these days better known for printers than innovation, has announced a breakthrough in chip manufacturing. The new process allows for eight times more gates to be put on each chip while simultaneously cutting power consumption. The nanotechnology also allows for higher fault tolerance and even possible reprogramming of chips even after the parts are installed in consumer electronics.

HP Labs researchers, Greg Snider and Stan Williams, published the news in published in Nanotechnology, a journal of the British Institute of Physics.

The advance allows more field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) to be packed into a chip. FPGAs are similar to regular logic gates except they can also handle more complex operations. The nc6400 is brought to you through collaboration between HP and Cingular Wireless who look to take advantage of Cingular’s UMTS/HSDPA network, which is available currently in 145 major metropolitan areas including 65 of the top 100 largest cities in 33 states.

The new notebook comes with integrated Cingular Wireless UMTS/HSDPA-based technology which uses the Qualcomm MSM6280 chipset to support 3.6Mbps performance modes and tri-band UMTS frequency bands. Cingular Unveils HP iPAQ hw6920

On October 31st Cingular will be offering wireless customers a new mobile device from HP called the iPAQ hw6920.

The iPAQ hw6920 Mobile Messenger utilizes not only Cingular’s GSM/GPRS/EDGE wireless network but also has the communication capabilities of Wi-Fi, GPS, infrared transfers and Bluetooth.

The hw6920 runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 with features such as Internet Explorer, Outlook and Windows Media Player, and the hw6925 model has a 1.3-megapixel HP Photosmart camera that can take still pictures and videos.

“HP is making it simple for customers to stay connected and work effectively when on the move,” said Alain Debost, director of handheld business unit NA for HP. “By combining the iPAQ hw6920 series wireless email, voice and fast data access with Cingular’s expansive network, we are allowing customers to tap into the information and rich content they want, …
