Verizon Wireless adds Gateway netbook to line

verizongatewayIn many parts of the world, subsidized notebooks and netbooks have been common for a long time. Here in the U.S. subsidized notebooks have really only started to be offered over the last year. Verizon Wireless has announced the latest addition to its notebook line, the Gateway LT2016u.

The device is set to go on sale with Verizon on October 4 for $149.99 after a $100 mail in rebate. The netbook has a 10.1-inch LED backlit screen and a 6-cell battery for power. The CPU is an Intel Atom N270 and it has 1GB of RAM and 160GB of storage.

Gateway launches LT2000 netbook

gateway_lt2000-sbNetbooks are still selling very well despite the fact that sales of traditional notebooks are at some of the lowest levels in years. Sales of netbooks are exploding, particularly in the more undeveloped areas of the world.

Gateway has announced a new netbook called the Gateway LT2000 that is a clone of one of the Acer Aspire One machines burning up the netbook sales charts. The LT2000 is available in a slick red or black chassis and sports what you expect to see in a netbook.

gateway_nv50-sbAs back to school gets closer, we will see more and more new notebooks and netbooks launched by computer makers. The back to school shopping season is one of the best times of the year for many computer makers so they load up with new product offerings.

Gateway has announced a new NV series of notebooks that are offered with Intel or AMD hardware on the inside starting at a budget price of $499.99. The machines all share many of the same features including a 15.6-inch HD LED backlit LCD screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768. The machines also have dual speakers and HDMI outputs.

Today prices on notebooks and netbooks have came down so much that you can buy a notebook for the same price or even less than your average desktop. Still there are some who prefer a desktop to a notebook and for that group Gateway has unveiled new systems.

Gateway has introduces two new desktop lines including the small form factor SX series and the mini-tower DX series. The SX desktops start at $499.99 and for that price you get some nice hardware. The rig runs an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 CPU, 4GB of RAM, and a 640GB HDD.

Gateway 17-inch P-7808u FX multimedia laptopGateway continues to offer up more bargain notebooks with its latest addition to the FX lineup. The P-7808u FX is a 17-inch notebook that’s geared towards multimedia fans, and if the WXGA panel doesn’t bother you, the rest of the specs are decent.

Some features include a 2GHz Core 2 Quad CPU, NVIDIA’s GeForce 9800M GTS graphics card (1GB of GDDR3 included), 4GB of DDR3 memory, an 8x dual-layer DVD writer, 500GB SATA hard drive, 5-in-1 multicard reader, a nine-cell battery, WiFi, three USB 2.0 sockets, FireWire, eSATA and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR.

Gateway launches new TC notebook series

Gateway TC NotebookGateway has a full line of notebooks that come in all sizes. The company is also closely related to Acer, which has the most popular netbook on the market with its Aspire One. Last year Gateway launched a pair of new notebook lines called the MC and MD series. The difference was a scant 0.6-inches in screen size with the MC line using a 16-inch LCD and the MD using a 15.4-inch screen.

The MC and MD machines had the same chassis design and Gateway has launched a new notebook line called the TC series that uses the same chassis design with a smaller 14-inch screen. The notebook is low priced at $649.99. At a low price point, you can’t expect top-of-the-line hardware inside, but the TC should perform decently enough.

Gateway ZX2300: An 18.5-inch all-in-one PC

Gateway ZX2300: An 18.5-inch all-in-one PCWe’ve been seeing all-in-one PCs more often lately. The latest is this 18.5-incher, the ZX2300 from Gateway, which should be available in Taiwan soon. The system is powered by an AMD Athlon 2650e CPU that runs on Windows XP Home, and supports 1GB RAM and a modest 160GB hard drive. LCD screen resolution is 1366 x 768.

The 18.5-inch display will give you a 16:9 aspect ratio. The ZX2300 also features Wi-Fi, webcam and a 16X LightScribe DVD burner. The PC will sell for about $530. No word on exactly when it will drop, but those in Taiwan will have a first crack at it.

Office Depot Sells Gateway Netbook

Gateway NetbookThe netbook is one of the only segments in the computer industry that is posting strong growth during the global economic slump. Sales of netbooks have soared posting growth rates of 160% according to some analysts.

The most popular netbook in America comes from Acer and is called the Aspire One. Gateway is owned by Acer and has so far not offered its own netbook for consumers to purchase. It seems that has changed and Gateway has now rolled out a netbook that is exclusive to Office Depot and the Home Shopping Network.

Gateway MC7801u NotebookNew notebooks are being introduced by the dozen this time of year. This year we are seeing some new types of systems hit the market with netbooks being very popular. Gateway is also introducing a notebook with a different size LCD than we are used to seeing.

The new Gateway MC-Series has a 16-inch edge-to-edge seamless glass display. The aspect ratio for the screen is 16:9 and it has a screen resolution of 1366×768. Other features of the notebook include Illuminated Multimedia Touch Controls.

Gateway announces new FX and LX desktop PCs

Two of the most common members of this group of power users not interested in a notebook PC are gamers and digital media enthusiasts.

Today gateway announced a pair of new desktop computers specifically for the PC gamer and the media enthusiast. The gamer gets the new Gateway FX6710-01 retailing for $1199.99. For that price you get an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 CPU, ATI HD 4850 graphics, 6GB of RAM, 750GB HDD, DVD burner, memory card reader and Vista Premium.

Typically, when you think about a gaming notebook, you’re talking about spending thousands of dollars to get the privilege of playing games on a notebook. Gateways FX series of gaming notebooks have been able to deliver the bulk of the performance of high-end and very expensive gaming notebooks — from the likes of Alienware in Dell — at a much cheaper price.

Gateway has announced its latest value priced FX edition notebook called the P-7811FX. This notebook is the first Gateway gaming notebook to feature the new Intel Centrino 2 processor technology. In addition to gaming, Gateway says this notebook is also great for entertainment as well as editing digital photos and video.

Gateway comes out in more colors

Gateway M Series and T  Series PC notebook line in 5 new colorsGateway, a recent subsidiary of Acer, felt they had done so well with the the colorful notebooks that they had released last fall that today they are announcing some more colors for the M-Series and T-Series lineup of PC notebooks. The M Series has the larger display of the two with 15.4-inches and previously came in Garnet Red and Pacific Blue. Today Gateway adds Merlot and Silver to the colors along with a design called Arctic Bloom.

The T-Series has a 14.1-inch display and will be limited to two additional colors getting the new turquoise Arctic Bloom design along with Silver. Gateway uses what they call an InFuse process to get the notebooks to show a high-gloss, stylish metallic finish and add some personality to your portable PC.

Gateway debuts new HD widescreen displays

Gateway FHD2400Gateway is out today with an announcement about some new high definition displays for use in entertainment or productivity. The new Gateway 24-inch FHD2400 and 22-inch HD2200 monitors are priced around $550 and $350 respectively.

The Gateway FHD2400 in particular offers a number of great features. It offers up 1080p support while delivering a resolution of 1920×1200. You also get a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a 3ms refresh rate as well as a four-port USB 2.0 hub. Viewing options with this display include auto-rotation for landscape or portrait viewing, 160-degree viewing angle and an adjustable stand.

Gateway debuts very impressive 30-inch HD display

Gateway XHD3000 has 1600p and is called a quad-HD displayGateway delivered today to consumers an advanced high definition display which promises 1600p. The new Gateway XHD3000 is priced at around $1,700.

The Gateway XHD3000 is described by Gateway as a “quad-HD” display. It offers up a 30-inch, 2560×1600 resolution widescreen display supported by a Silicon Optix Realta HQV video processor. The display offers built-in upconversion to take 1080p images to 1600p and is capable of connecting to a variety of devices via range of inputs including HDMI, single-link/dual-link DVI-D, VGA, component, s-video and composite interfaces.

The One is 19 inches wide and 3.6 inches deep, wall mountable, and will be available in 3 models, one of which can only be purchased online. The unveiling of the One is set to take place tomorrow at Digital Life, but thanks to a teaser released on the net here are some of the known features of this sleek machine.
