Fujitsu offering up stylish new notebook PC

Fujitsu LifeBook P8010 (image via Gizmodo)Fujitsu has unveiled at CES one sexy looking ultra portable notebook PC for the on the go ground. The new Fujitsu LifeBook P8010 is set to price at around $1,700.

The Fujitsu LifeBook P8010 sports a 12.1-inch LED widescreen display housed in a glossy black cover. Under the hood you’ll find a typical Intel Core 2 Duo processor, dual layer multi-format DVD-RW and integrated Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection wireless LAN with dual diversity antennas. The P8010 is small, with overall dimensions of 11.2 inches x 8.26 inches x 1.37 inches.

Fujitsu LifeBook S6510Fujitsu is hoping to help you add one more item to your year end work expenses by offering up a new laptop said to be the lightest 14-inch widescreen model yet. The new Fujitsu LifeBook S6510 has a starting price of around $1,530.

The Fujitsu LifeBook S6510 weighs around four pounds, designed with what Fujitsu says is thinner, lighter components. The laptop thickness wise ranges from less than an inch thin to 1.42 inches at its thickest point. It is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and is equipped with a modular bay to fit a variety of devices.

Fujitsu Launches Palm Reading Security Mouse

Fujitsu PalmSecure PC Login kit uses vein biometric authentication to secure a PCFujitsu today unveiled a new product in PC security that uses “palm vein biometric authentication” to secure access to computers called the PalmSecure PC Login Kit. The kit comes in two versions, one as a standard which incorporates the palm vein scanner and the other that doubles as a standard computer mouse with the vein reader built in.

The palm vein device from Fujitsu uses a newer type of authentication which uses near-infrared rays to identify the unique patterns of veins in a persons hand. The system promises to provide secure authentication since no two persons vein patterns are exactly alike, and is touchless providing a more hygenic biometric authentication than touching a fingerprint scanner. There were a few features of this GPS device that really caught our eye here at the ‘Brick. The first was the the the NAVIGON software that runs on the LOOX N100. This offers real-time views of not only the roads and upcoming turns, but also the individual lanes. The device can tell you when turns are coming and can determine in advance if you need to change lanes to successfully make your next move.

Fujitsu shows off faster 2.5″ drive

Fujitsu announced a new SATA 2.5″ hard driveEveryone could use a bigger hard drive, there’s no doubt there; but there is something to be said about a fast drive as well. Not long after unveiling a 300 GB 2.5″ SATA, Fujitsu has announced 3 new 2.5” SATA models running at a nice 7,200 rpm.

The three models, MHW2080BJ, MHW2120BJ and MHW2160BJ, come at, 80GB, 120GB, and a hefty 160GB respectively. These hard drives also have a very fast transfer rate of up to 300MB/s.

All three models should be out sometime in May 2007.
