This world time clock designed by Charlotte van der Waals is a very simple and equally smart design to show the 24 different time zones around the world on one clock. The clock is barrel-shaped with 12 sides, each side having two cities written on it that are 12 hours apart. The clock face has no minute hand and tells you the current time (approximately) in whatever city is written on top as you roll the clock over. Very cool.

The World Time Clock is 3.5″ long with a 2″ diameter and retails for $74 at MomaStore.

The Waterdrop Weather Station from Sharper Image acts as both an alarm clock to wake you with information on the time, weather and more. This probably could just as easily have been an egg or football weather station, but since it’s reporting the weather I guess it makes sense that they refer to it’s geometry as a drop of water.

A uniquely exposed design was given to the Bomba alarm clock by Dutch designer Will Vanden Vos, showing off all the gears and inner workings that run, like clockwork I guess. The design features the retro-style flip cards to change the displayed numbers like many very early electric alarm clocks used to have. Some light blue LED lights on each side make the numbers readable at night and a simple dial on the side lets you set the approximate time you would like the alarm to sound.

The old-school use of the flip card numbers and the clean look of the exposed gears make the Bomba alarm clock an interesting time piece. I just hope that the numbers changing every 60 seconds don’t make the same amount of noise that they do at the train stations.

Making good use of bricked drives, Etsy has desk clocks created from real computer hard drives that are obsolete. They combined a real working Quartz clock and made a desk clock for the uber-geek. Remove the base and you can even hang it on the wall.

This Earlarm is a pretty cool idea. It’s a tiny alarm clock that clips onto your ear and get be set to provide a personal notification at the pre-set time.

The functionality is nothing special. You set the time you want it to go off and it does, but the design allows it to be discrete and out of the way. The alarm is directly in your ear so no one else hears it and can be used for times when you need to be reminded of things but might not be wearing a watch or are near an alarm, such as traveling on mass transit or studying at the library.

There are continuously fewer popular gadgets that don’t have some type of accessory related to Hello Kitty, and this Hello Kitty Clock Radio / Docking Station for the Apple iPod comes as no surprise.

This clock radio has some of the normal functionality you would expect, with an alarm that will play the radio or your iPod, and a 5 minute snooze button. Also, of course it bears the familiar pink colors and design of Hello Kitty products.

This is a pretty novel idea for a “digital” clock. The Pin Clock looks a lot like that pin game you may have played with as a kid, where you can put the pins on your face and they take it’s shape.

In this case, the pins are pushed out or pulled in to take the shape of the numbers to represent the current time. As the minutes change, the pins make sounds as the move in and out like the old sound of time changes on the board at the train station. The web site states that you can “hear a pin clock”.
