What do you do if you have to wear a tie to work, which is bad enough, and your boss is a wanker and won’t let you listen to your iPod in the office? What you need is this nifty Thomas Pink tie with the hidden iPod compartment.

The tie is called the Commuter tie and has a special compartment behind the tie that holds your iPod nano securely. The tie itself is 100% silk and should look good enough on you in the office. Pink designed the tie to fit the new iPod nano, but I would assume any player of similar dimensions would fit.

I have never purchased anything off a TV commercial like the ones the spokes people always tell you to call now for. Most of the stuff they peddle looks like junk to me. The company behind some of those oddball products — Telebrands — has announced a new gadget that works with mobile phones.

The device is called the Jupiter Jack and plugs into the headphone port of mobile phones. The idea is that the device will send the audio from your calls over the cars speaker system so you can hear while driving without having to hold the phone.

Convergence is a great thing in the gadgets we know and love today. For instance the iPhone is a great converged device that can replace a GPS system, phone, MID, and MP3 player with one device. Convergence is usually associated with technology products, but not always.

One of the few gadgets that I have found myself actually wanting to own is the Kindle DX. I haven’t bought one because I was waiting for the price to go down and I want to be sure that there is a decent science fiction catalog available for the device.

Anyone who plays an instrument will be happy to hear that FreeHand Systems is now offering sheet music in digital format for the Kindle reader. The company offers all sorts of music genres from jazz to pop and country music.

There are so many headphones and earphones on the market that you can find a set in just about any color or style that you want. Most of them work well and sound better than the stock headphones that ship with your iPod or iPhone.

JBL and Roxy have announced that they have teamed up for more earphones and headphones that will be sold through Roxy stores around the country. The line will include the Reference 230, Reference 250, and Reference 430.

Large LCDs are a great way to get more information on your screen at once. Even better than a single large LCD is several large LCDs, the catch is finding room on an average desk to sit more than one 24-inch screen.

Steelcase offers all sorts of office chairs and other furniture and has announced a new LCD arm called the Eyesite. The arm can be configured to support up to three 24-inch LCDs in16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratios. When not needed the arm also folds almost flat to give more desk space.

The Amazon Kindle is a cool gadget and has been one of the most popular devices on Amazon since it launched. Not too long ago Amazon unveiled a new larger screen Kindle designed with reading newspapers in mind called the Kindle DX.

The Kindle DX lacked any sort of protective cover for the large screen, which meant that if users weren’t careful they could scratch the expensive gadget. A company called M-Edge has announced a new line of cases for the Kindle DX that includes the Executive Jacket and the Platform Jacket.

It may not be officially summer yet, but in warmer climates, it’s already getting hot. If you work on a laptop a lot that means sitting the thing in your lap is getting all the more uncomfortable already. There are lots of laptop coolers on the market with some of them using fans that create noise.

Nexus Technology has unveiled a new laptop cooler that is a velvet blanket filled with a gel-like liquid to capture and remove heat from a laptop. The product is called the Nexus TDD-9000 liquid cooling pad and will ship in mid-June for $23.

Let me just get this confession out of the way. When I shop for stuff that goes with my PC, I prefer it to look like the high tech gear that it is. What I don’t want is tech gear for my PC that looks like say a cookie or another food item.

Most of the Bluetooth headsets that you can get for mobile phones on the market today are black or silver things that look like they were designed for guys. There are a few Bluetooth headsets around that are pink or look like something women would like, but not many.

A company called ChicBuds and announced a Bluetooth headset specifically for women called the PinkTooth headset. The device connects to any Bluetooth-enabled phone and is good for 200 hours of standby time and six hours of talk time.

This was once a simple Wolverine figure, but some outside of the box thinking has turned Logan into an effective iPod cable manager. Proof that simple toys can sometimes help keep your gadgets tidy on your desk. It’s only $15 and probably has some other uses as well.

When I travel I go light with nothing that I can’t fit in my two allowed carry-on bags. My wife on the other hand packs enough clothing and stuff that she uses one of those massive suitcases that you have to check. Last year a company called Live Luggage announced a bag for people tired of schlepping big bags around that has a battery powered electric motor inside to help with getting around.

Kensington believes the world still loves trackballs and, to that end, today unveiled its new SlimBlade Trackball. This latest offering from the company’s Slimblade collection of computer accessories prices around $130.

The Kensington SlimBlade Trackball is said to let one navigate and control digital content through the ball itself, doing such functions as navigation, media control adjustments and photo browsing. It is designed to support a number of major media applications, such as Firefox and Adobe Reader.

I have tried on a few occasions to take pictures with my iPhone. It seems that no matter how brightly lit the room is, the camera simply can’t take a shot that’s not dark and grainy. Many other high-end camera phones offer a built-in flash, but so far, Apple has not added that feature.
