Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on July 11th, 2011

This new leaked photo coming out of China shows an interesting feature that caught us by surprise. A 3D camera. We don’t know if it is a legitimate shot of the iPhone 5, but hey why not? 3D is all the rage right? The question is, do you want a 3D camera on the next iPhone?

We certainly never thought that Apple would jump into 3D market, but a dual camera sensor array has been rumored before for the iPhone 5. I guess time will tell us all we need to know.

3G Rumored for Next iPod Touch

Posted in iPod Touch by Conner Flynn on July 11th, 2011

Rumor is that users will be able to pop a 3G SIM card into the next iPod Touch and subscribe to a data plan of their choosing. AT&T and Verizon Wireless already offer 3G service for the iPad, so a connected iPod Touch would presumably work just like they do.

If this rumor turns out to be true, this is great news for those wanting a data only phone. Skype could replace a traditional voice plan, and iMessages, the messaging service that will launch with iOS 5 this fall, could reduce the need for SMS. Using data-based services could lead to big savings on a monthly smartphone bill.

Vol speaker is a speaker and volume knob in one

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on July 11th, 2011

Here’s a minimalistic approach to a speaker if we ever saw one. It was designed by Hironao Tsuboi for Kent of British American Tobacco. The Vol is a volume knob with a speaker built in. Obviously this makes the Vol speaker very portable.

In fact the only way of controlling it is the dial on top. You use it to switch it on and off and to adjust the volume. If it makes it to market, the USB rechargeable speaker will be made out of aluminum and measure just 2.2 inches in diameter and 1.4 inches in height.
