Ringbow: A D-Pad For Tablets

Posted in Tablet PC by Conner Flynn on May 6th, 2011

Something interesting was shown off at a California Israel Chamber of Commerce demo event yesterday. Something that could improve the interface of touch-screen devices. It’s called the Ringbow, a ring-mounted, wireless pointing stick.

Think of it as a D-Pad for your tablet device. Touch-screen apps generally have limited ways to control them, so access to menu commands or secondary functions requires going to full menus, which is not ideal at all and not fast. The Ringbow makes going through accessory menus faster and less of a hassle.

It would also add more control options in games. Hopefully it has a shot at becoming some sort of standard and they can get some apps made for it. Great idea.
