Star Trek Klingon Bird of Prey Wine Opener

Posted in Sci-Fi by Conner Flynn on May 30th, 2011

Star Trek fans will love this corkscrew/wine opener fashioned to look like a Klingon Bird of Prey. Just let it attack that cork head on as if it were a Federation ship and open your wine in style.

Perfect for opening a bottle of Klingon Blood wine with your Klingon friends. It isn’t as detailed as it could be, but it’s still pretty awesome.

Digital receiver for the iPhone lets you watch TV

As great as the iPhone may be, you can’t watch TV on it. Or can you? The Cydle i30 will help. The Cydle i30 is a digital receiver. Just attach your iPhone and this gadget allows it to receive live TV signals. You will be able to view over-the-air broadcasts by the major networks and other stations.

Great solution for those who want to watch things as they air, on a very small screen. Sadly we don’t have any info on pricing or availability yet for this one.

Samsung’s president of the mobile division, JK Shin, says that the company plans to launch a 4G tablet later this year. We don’t know if it will be a 4G version of one of Samsung’s new tablets that have already been announced, or if this is a completely new tablet.

He also said that we can expect to see the new Samsung Galaxy S III in the first half of 2012. The company’s Galaxy range of smartphones and tablets have been a great success, so they obviously want to build on this.

HP TouchPad at OfficeMax on July 17th?

Posted in HP by Conner Flynn on May 30th, 2011

It looks like OfficeMax may be getting the HP TouchPad in July. If the document above is the real thing, HP’s new 9.7-inch tablet will be available at the retailer on July 17th in 3G and 4G versions.

That’s a bit strange because the company hasn’t made any mention of WiMAX or LTE compatibility. Rumor is that it might have a $600 price tag for the 32GB model. None of this is confirmed so we will just have to wait and see.

LulzSec says new anti-Sony hack campaign starts within a day

Posted in Sony by Conner Flynn on May 29th, 2011

Hacking collective Lulz Security says that it is about to launch a new campaign against Sony. The timeframe is “within the next day.” This follows attacks on Sony Music Japan and elsewhere. Of course, the group didn’t name its specific targets other than some Sony websites.

It doesn’t look like Lulz is responsible for the PSN hack that took down the network for three weeks. So why all the hate against Sony? Well, many don’t like it’s approach to trying to fight PS3 jailbreaking, including getting data on anyone who had even so much as visited hacker George Hotz’ website or commented on his YouTube videos.

Money Shredding Alarm Clock

Posted in Clocks by Conner Flynn on May 29th, 2011

Anyone who risks actual money being shredded in their alarm clock must have serious problems waking up. This should help give you incentive though. We’re not sure if this even exists or who created it, but it’s a neat idea.

The alarm clock starts shredding the bill that’s been inserted at the appointed time unless you wake up to stop it. How much would you pay to shred money while you sleep? I can’t see anyone buying this.
