Apple confirms glitch with Verizon iPad 2

Posted in iPad by Conner Flynn on April 10th, 2011

Remember when iPhone owners complained about AT&T’s network and could not wait for the day they could use their Apple devices on Verizon’s network? It wasn’t so long ago. Well, we have iDevices on Verizon now and guess what? It isn’t all it was cracked up to be. The grass always seems greener on the other side.

Verizon iPad 2 users are having reboot problems. Apple calls the number of users with problems “small”, but they have acknowledged the problem after message boards went crazy this week with customers complaining they are having difficultly accessing Verizion Wireless’s 3G data network.

Nokia E6, X7 show up early in official promo videos

Posted in Nokia by Conner Flynn on April 10th, 2011

British carrier 3 and Nokia have posted some videos of the E6 and X7. The X7 features a four-inch ClearBlack display as well as an eight-megapixel camera and a newly updated version of Symbian. You can expect the browser to be three times faster than it is in Symbian^3 devices like the N8 and it looks like it will feature a portrait ratio on-screen keyboard instead of making you switch into landscape mode.

We don’t know much about the E6, but it will be the first modern Symbian device with a 4:3 ratio screen and a fixed QWERTY keyboard. It packs a 640×480 resolution screen, and it should have up with 720p video recording along with other modern features.

SAT119: The Fire Extinguisher You Throw

Posted in News by Conner Flynn on April 10th, 2011

Fire extinguishers are pretty easy to operate, but let’s face it, in life there’s always one guy who doesn’t get it, no matter how simple. So we need an extinguisher that even an idiot can use. The SAT119 will do the trick. It’s a Japanese invention. Just throw the SAT119 on a nearby fire and it is gone.

Of course you better throw it in the right spot and not miss. Okay, so it is nearly idiot-proof. It’s basically just a chemical mix that reacts instantly once released from its container. The blue liquid unleashes carbon dioxide that snuffs the oxygen right out of the fire. No oxygen, no fire. Right now the SAT119 is only good for small contained fire though. This could be pretty handy to have in an emergency however. Maybe to put out a fire in one small room.

Verizon preparing a 16GB Motorola XOOM with 4G LTE?

Posted in Motorola by Conner Flynn on April 10th, 2011

It was less than a month ago that Motorola announced the XOOM Wi-Fi for $599. Now there’s word that a 16GB model could be in the works. And just like the 32GB Motorola XOOM that you can get right now, it will be upgradeable to 4G LTE in the near future if the screenshot is accurate.

We don’t have any word on what pricing, but it’s safe to assume that it will be in the $400-$450 range. That would sure make me think twice about an iPad 2.
