Hercules will be unveiling their new XPS101 Refined Performance Speakers this week at CES 2011, even though they look like something you would attach to your car to make it look more old-timey. Despite their look, this is a high-end 2.1 audio system that is said to bring the “dynamic ambience of a live music event, the captivating soundtrack of an action movie and the precision audio effects of a multiplayer video game” to your living room.

I’m sorry they just look too much like a horn or a spotlight, even if they are made of high-quality materials for great acoustic performance. The rounded satellites feature a black lacquer finish and metal back sections. They should hit stores this month at $249.99.
