LG Optimus 2X Android phone hits Europe in January

We already knew that it was coming to Korea in January. Now we have word that LG’s Tegra 2 Optimus 2X will hit Europe in January of 2011, with it’s 4-inch display and 1080p video recording capability. The news comes from a press release which talks about the inclusion of 25 audio files (including 15 custom ringtones) from film composer Ennio Morricone.

That’s right, the man who scored Sergio Leone’s “Spaghetti Westerns.” Seems like an odd partnership, but hey, those are some darn good tunes.

Planex MKZ-RP150N Pocket Router

Planex has announced it’s latest router in the MKZ-RP150N pocket router. The device is pretty simple. It has just a single connection for Ethernet, and will support WiFi and basic DNS services. It measures 42mm x 15mm x 55.2mm and weighs just 27 grams, hence the name.

This USB-powered portable router retails for about $41, and may be a good alternative to Apple’s AirPort Express at that price.

Here in the cold weather states this is the time of year for warm gloves. Unfortunately gloves and your iPhone don’t mix, unless they are special gloves. You could use a stylus for your touch device, but that isn’t always the best solution either.

So what can you do? Well, if you don’t mind looking like an idiot, here’s your app. A new app called NoseDial lets you dial with your nose. We couldn’t make this stuff up if we tried.

Funko 501 Clone Trooper Fold-Up Headphones

Another day, another Star Wars themed gadget, This time it’s the Funko 501 Clone Trooper fold-up headphones, which are compatible with most MP3 players, iPods and PMPs. And of course they feature the head of a Clone Trooper.

We aren’t sure how durable these are, but these lightweight headphones also feature 40mm stereo sound speakers and a standard 3.5mm audio jack. They weigh in at just 9.6 ounces.

IK Multimedia has begun shipping their iKlip iPad microphone stand. It’s a pretty basic accessory. It works by holding everything in place, keeping your hands free to play your instrument and concentrate. The price seems a bit high for something so basic, but I guess it’s worth it.

It will cost you $39.99. Have a good concert, practice or whatever, while keeping your hands firmly on your instrument.

Poco Pro digital camera is super slim

Cameras are pretty slim these days, but most are not the size of a credit card.The Poco Pro digital camera on the other hand is the size of a credit card. Just a bit thicker actually. It is capable of shooting 14-megapixel stills and can also record video in 1080p resolution onto a microSDHC memory card.

It also sports a 2.4-inch AMOLED display with touchscreen controls around the bezel. Other features include auto focus, super macro capabilities, image stabilization, face recognition and limited DSLR-like manual controls. It weighs just 65 grams.

Dell dropping Streak tablet to $400 unlocked

For those of you who have been holding out and waiting for a deal on the Dell Streak, we have some good news. Dell has just dropped the pricing for its Streak device in the US. They obviously want to move some more units and drive sales figures up.

The unlocked models have dropped by $180, to a new low of $400. Android-powered models from AT&T will still retail for $550 and $650, in 16GB and 32GB capacities. I know which deal I would go for. Does this news entice you into buying a Streak?

Pioneer ships 3D Blu-ray players with iOS app support

Pioneer’s latest range of 3D Blu-ray players will now feature iOS support. These include the BDP-430, Elite BDP-41FD and BDP-43FD. Another shared function would be HDMI 1.4a connectivity for stereoscopic 3D capability along with 36-bit color support. For this the source and the TV need to support it. You also get Pioneer’s iControlAV iOS app which is available for free in the App Store, letting iPhone and iPod users control their player over a local network.

All three models will support a continuous mode which remembers where the movie stopped, so you can play it from that position. Using the Ethernet jack, you can also access Netflix, Pandora and YouTube without a computer.

You may or may not be aware of it, but there is a range of phones in China by a manufacturer called OPPO and they sell pretty well. That’s apparently why members of the Shanzai have created a knock-off model. They didn’t just copy, they changed things a round a bit as usual and the result is this new POOP line of cellphones.

We don’t have any info on features or a price, but I can just imagine their advertising. Stay in touch with the power of Poop. Or Put a Poop in your hands today.

Samsung Focus gets massive tear-down

So what exactly is inside of a Samsung Focus? If you’ve been dying to know, but have been understandably unwilling to take yours apart, don’t worry. Someone has done it for you, dissecting the whole thing, and showing you the various chips that are on board from Qualcomm, Micron and others.

One thing they noticed is the use of SanDisk 8GB NAND flash RAM, instead of Samsung’s own memory solutions. The 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor is also in there. No need to take apart your own to satisfy your curiosity.

UK teen buys $750,000 of his own music online using stolen credit cards

Credit card fraud is always going on somewhere and the latest example is a UK teen who recently got caught using stolen credit cards to purchase about $750,000 worth of music. His own music that he and his band offered on Amazon and the iTunes music store between January 2008 and June 2009. By doing so, he earned himself some nice royalty fees. Not that this will help him when he is behind bars.

The group allegedly downloaded the songs 6,000 times during that period. Crime doesn’t pay kids. And if you have to buy your own music to make it sell, maybe you should get a new gig.

Epic 4G to get Android 2.2 Froyo update on Dec 26th?

The Samsung Epic 4G has been waiting patiently as numerous other devices have been granted with the Android 2.2 Froyo treatment, but the good news is that Epic 4G owners might be in for a Christmas treat.

Some leaked screenshots hint that Android 2.2.1 will be rolling out to the phone on December 26th, one day after Christmas. Hopefully this is accurate and the update will arrive on time for a nice after Christmas gift.

Elliptic Labs 3D gesture-sensing dock

The company has been working on its 3D gesture interface for years and it is finally ready to show off an actual product in the form of a motion-sensing iPad dock prototype making its debut at CES in a few weeks. It gives you full control without having to touch your device at all.
