Sometimes charging gadgets can be a real pain. Too many adapters, not enough outlets or USB ports. Plus they take a while to charge up. Well, with this concept, all you need is your finger. Which beats carrying extra juice packs and chargers everywhere.

This concept is from Song Teaho & Hyejin Lee and it allows you to charge your devices battery with a few quick spins on your finger. Well…More like about 130 revolutions. But hey, it keeps you juiced up and gives your finger some exercise.

This bot looks like he’s a wise-guy with those eyebrows. He can also walk. But what’s really interesting is that he is made in the USA by Futurebots and powered by two Atom processors (a dual-core Atom 330 and an Atom 230), which power two separate systems running Windows XP and Windows 7.

ATOM-7x will have a range of capabilities thanks to several sensors, gyros and accelerometers. An advanced stereo vision system will let it “take on real world problems.” Whatever that means. Presumably it will make it easier for the bot to hunt down humans and steal their netbooks for an upgrade.

Sony and Panasonic have teamed up to develop 67GB Blu-ray discs using i-MLSE (Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimation) technology. That’s pretty damn impressive. This means that the next generation of Blu-ray discs will store 33.4GB of data on a single layer disc or 66.8GB on a dual-layer disc.

And as a bonus you won’t need new hardware to use these new Blu-ray discs. There is no info on the release date yet. When we might see them in our hands is anyone’s guess. A year maybe.

ASUS’s latest Intel CULV-powered UL30Vt-A1 notebook is available for pre-order on Amazon. The 13.3″ notebook features a longer lasting 8-cell, 5,600mAh battery, while the processor stays the same with a 1.3GHz Intel dual-core processor.

RAM can be increased to 4GB and you’ll get NVIDIA’s 512MB GeForce G 210M and an integrated Intel GMA 4500 graphics chipset, so you can switch between the two. Some other features include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a VGA webcam, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Word on the street is that MSI’s eReader that it plans to unveil at this year’s CES will have Nvidia Tegra graphics and also dual screens. There may also be a 3D laptop in the works.

The Asus dual screen eReader is pictured above. It isn’t a new concept. But does a device like this have a chance, with all of the other tablets? We have no idea, but are inclined to say no. And there is zero info on the 3D laptop. Hopefully we will find out at CES.

We already knew about Interead’s COOL-ER 3G e-book reader, but now they are announcing a new WiFi-equipped COOL-ER Connect model. Details are in short supply, but the reader will apparently have a touchscreen and weigh only 5.8 ounces.

Look for it to be available this Spring. The COOL-ER 3G is scheduled for mid-2010. Interead has also announced a new line of content for its e-book readers. Like the Coolermatic application for instance, which will let users access over 1,400 newspapers and “select websites,”. Twitter feeds as well, but with no posting.

I hear ya, Amazon’s Kindle DX is big. It is, but it’s not the biggest any more. The Skiff Reader is the biggest in town now at just a quarter inch thick. It features a 1600 x 1200 11.5-inch touchscreen (finger and stylus) that should be much better for magazine and newspaper layouts.

Skiff also has 4GB of on-board storage (with over 3GB available for content), SD card expansion, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Content can be loaded via a mini USB jack or through WiFi and 3G is also an option thanks to Sprint, who will sell the Skiff this year for an unknown price.

iPhones and iPod Touches come in 32GB capacities now, but if you have an earlier model you may be stuck with 8GB. What can you do? Well, you can get an AirStash. The device adds wireless storage to your i-device so you can free up some internal storage.

It looks like a large flash drive with a USB plug on one end and an SD slot on the other. Just charge it, load some content on it and you are good to go. You can connect to it wirelessly from your handset. There are some security concerns, but hopefully they will be addressed real soon.

NAS devices used to be pretty much exclusive to the office and enterprise settings to allow for central data backups. With many consumers now producing and using tons of digital content the NAS is also finding its way into homes.

Thecus has unveiled its latest NAS product called the N4200. The device has smart bays that will work with SATA drives of 2.5-inches and 3.5-inches. The device has a built-in battery back up to preserve settings and unwritten data in the event of a blackout.

I think one of the most popular features on many mobile phones moving forward will be wireless charging. The Pre has a wireless charger option already, but most phones have to be connected to a wire to charge. I use a WildCharge case and charge pad for my iPhone to charge the device without needing wires, and it is great.

WiPower has announced a new developer’s kit for its technology called the Wireless Power Mobile Design Kit. The kit includes the wireless power charge base, access to white label transmitters and a wireless power transmitter good for up to 15W.

Samsung has unveiled a new digital camera called the NX10 that isn’t a point-and-shoot and isn’t a DSLR. The camera has interchangeable lenses but lacks the mirror system of a DSLR. The image sensor is also larger than the micro four thirds cameras on the market and the cam uses a slightly larger lens connection than the aforementioned cameras.

The NX10 has a image sensor with 14.6MP resolution and will come in black or silver colors. The display is a 3-inch AMOLED screen that promises reduced power consumption. ISO range for the camera is 100- 3200 and the cam has a built-in flash.

I live in Texas so there are only about three months out of the entire year when it’s nice to be outside. For the other nine months of the year, it is either too hot or too cold to even think about outdoors. If you live in a more temperate area and like to watch TV outside SunBrite has a new set for you called the 5510HD.

The TV has full 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is enclosed in a cabinet that prevents dust, bugs, and water from damaging the sensitive electronics. A fan also allows the TV to operate in temperatures of up to 122 degrees. The contrast ratio for the set is 4000:1.

Frontier has unveiled its new 10-inch Pine Trail netbook, the Frontier UX netbook. This netbook comes with a DVD drive, so you can watch your favorite DVD movies wherever you are. It also features a 6-cell battery, which will give you up to 6.4 hours of power.

The Frontier UX weighs about 2.9 pounds and is powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Atom Pine Trail N450 processor, has a 1024 x 600 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/ WiFi, and Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium.

The 2Oct2031 concept watch looks like a Sci-fi movie prop. That’s what we love about it. It’s part stealth, part alien, all cool. It’s from designer Tao Ma. The 2Oct2031 concept watch has angles that might be from a stealth plane or a diamond.

This one will be aimed at the Chinese market, but the concept watch isn’t ready for production just yet. We hope that other watch makers are paying attention. We want more like this.
