EA confirms PSP2 exists

Posted in PSP by Conner Flynn on November 3rd, 2010

Game developer EA has acknowledged that it had seen at least details of Sony’s PSP2. Senior VP Patrick Soderlund wouldn’t say whether it included the actual hardware or target specifications but noted that as a developer, they have had access.

In case you missed it, rumors have been circulating that Sony has been showing the PSP2 to developers to get them ready for development, but we don’t yet know the exact nature of the design. Some rumors give this new handheld as much power as an Xbox 360, with a backside touchpad and other additions. Performance isn’t likely to be that high, but it may use Android to run the same games and apps as the PlayStation phone.

Bionic Wrench does it all

Posted in Tools by Conner Flynn on November 3rd, 2010

We love tools that serve multiple purposes and act as many tools in one. The Bionic Wrench is just that. It solves a number of problems when using adjustable spanners and box-wrenches. It uses six hardened-steel blocks in a circular enclosure that actually become the jaws of the wrench and close down onto the six edges of the bolt no matter the size.

It will tighten on the bolt as you push whether tightening or loosening, making it easy to fit any sized bolt head and handling all sizes in one tool. The Bionic Wrench is available in several different sizes from $19.95.

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on November 3rd, 2010

The official Bluetooth headset for the PS3 has been around for a few years for $49.99 with no design changes whatsoever. Now it looks like Sony is finally making an update, slimming down the sides to make it look more sleek.

The price should stay the same. It will just be thinner with a thinner clip. It won’t make any difference to you or your teammates as you bark orders at them while playing Call Of Duty.

Apple to extend iTunes song previews to 90 seconds in U.S.

Posted in iTunes by Conner Flynn on November 2nd, 2010

Looks like Apple has informed music labels that it is preparing to extend the length of iTunes Store song previews in the United States to 90 seconds. This would be for songs that are at least 2 minutes and 30 seconds long. Shorter songs will continue to offer the current 30-second samples. I don’t know about you, but I’m glad to hear it, no pun intended.

Apple’s email says that by continuing to offer their music on the iTunes Store, labels are indicating their acceptance of the new terms. Any labels who do not wish to agree with the terms must withdraw their music from the iTunes Store.(As if they have a choice. Where else would they go?)
