Sony confirms disc-free PS3 Netflix for US this month

Posted in Netflix by Conner Flynn on October 7th, 2010

Finally, you will be able to watch movies on Netflix with your PS3, disc free! In the comments section of a recent entry on the official US PlayStation blog, Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein confirmed that a Netflix app is headed to US owners of the PlayStation 3.

This will happen sometime this month. US users should check the PlayStation Store for the app anytime now. Reports suggest that Canadian PS3s are getting it earlier than expected as well. Canadians do not have a mail-order DVD option, their service is exclusively a streaming one.

I’ll reactiveate Netflix when this happens. At least until I get tired of their crappy streaming selection.
