Rock Lock protects your guitar from thieves

Posted in Musical Instruments by Conner Flynn on October 26th, 2010

Guitar theft is apparently an epidemic and the Rock Lock Company wants to put an end to it and protect guitars everywhere. The lock is basically a buckle that snaps around your guitar neck, then you loop it around something immobile and lock it into place. Just like how you protect your bike.

It will cost you $49.99 and you can pre-order it now with free shipping. It’s a small price to pay to protect an expensive instrument.

Ok, I’am missing something here. What is to stop the thief from cutting the cable with a pair of wire cutters and then walking away with the guitar. Unless the “buckle” has a siren or alarm that will go off when the cable is cut or even approached, what exactly is the $49.99 for?
