The geek decided to use that machine for a DIY tablet project with some cool results. The tablet he turned the MacBook into still needs some more work on it, but it is operational. The guy integrated a touchscreen and was able to use the screen with the bezel turned the correct way.

LG puts tablet plans on hold, will wait for next Android version

Posted in LG by Conner Flynn on October 4th, 2010

We have heard that Android 2.2 isn’t well suited for tablet devices and apparently LG feels the same way as we now hear that an unnamed LG official has claimed that the company will not be producing an Android 2.2 tablet.

They want the best version of Android for their tablet and apparently that isn’t Froyo. It matches what we’ve heard about Motorola planning to release its Android-powered tablet with Android 3.0 as well. When LG does release their tablets, they will perform better for having waited.

Zune HD gets Live Messenger, new games

Posted in Zune HD by Conner Flynn on October 3rd, 2010

Microsoft has given the Zune HD its first significant app catalog update in months and headlined it with Windows Live Messenger. The app is the Zune’s first instant messaging app. It supports most of the same features, like Facebook chat as well as social feeds from Facebook, Flickr and MySpace. It doesn’t really multitask but will change status to reflect currently playing music.

There are also three action and puzzle games, Castles & Cannons, Dr. Optics and WordMonger. Microsoft last gave the Zune HD a major non-game app through the Facebook client in March. It appears that they really are turning their attention more toward Windows Phone 7, which should have much broader app support.

If the NES were released today, this is what it would look like as you load up your Lost DVD. Once the tray goes in, you’ll need eject it again and blow on the DVD. It’s a beautiful creation.

The controller has been hollowed out and once you flip it over a DVD remote has been placed inside which controls it. Great mod. I may have to build this one myself.
