Microsoft Metro Mouse leaked

Russian website TheVista.ru has uncovered an interesting new mouse. It’s the Metro Mouse from Microsoft. Microsoft’s BlueTrack technology is on board and you get “wired reliability and tracking confidence with style”. Which we must have been lacking before.

It will retail for about $20, so it will be the cheapest BlueTrack mouse to date. The design is ambidextrous for both left and right handers. The Metro Mouse will hit the market in March of next year. We hope there are other colors.

Toshiba UL605 series LED-backlit TVs hit the US

Toshiba has added a new addition to its LED-backlit TVs called the UL605. It replaces the outgoing UX600 by offering a slimmer shape, edge-lit LED backlights and a 120Hz panel. It will come bundled with a USB Wi-Fi adapter so you can access Vudu movies, Flickr and Picasa photos, DLNA media sharing and Facebook or Twitter.

You can choose from 40-, 46- and 55-inch sizes for $1,399, $1,699 and $2,499. Those price tags aren’t that bad all things considered.

Logitec offers World’s Smallest Bluetooth Earphones

Logitec Japan (not Logitech) has released the world’s smallest stereo Bluetooth 2.1+EDR earphones. The LBT-PCHP02 series is designed for PC users, while the LBT-AVHP02 series is designed for your portable audio player needs.

Both have batteries that deliver four hours of playback and measure just 1.3-inches long and 0.23 inches thick. You’ll get several earbud sizes included so it should fit you with no problems. These earphones can also support two different Bluetooth sources at the same time, so you’ll be able to connect it to your media player and phone.

Asus reveals NX90J, Lamborghini VX6, WiCast and more at NYC event

Asus has readied a bunch of devices that should rock the computing and gaming world. The David Lewis-designed NX90J will ship this month, adding another option in the 18.4-inch laptop market starting at $2,299.

There’s also the more affordable N53Jf powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, the NVIDIA GeForce GT425M for graphics processing, a Bang & Olufsen-infused chassis and a 15-inch display, all for $999. Then there’s the ROG (Republic of Gamers) G73Jw with a September release at $1,799.

Sony’s Monster Hunter PSP with modified analog stick hitting Japan soon

You certainly have your choice of PSPs, but Sony keeps announcing more. Now they have announced a new special edition PSP-3000 at the Tokyo Game Show.

This time you will get Monster Hunter Portable 3 graphics, and this PSP also ships with a slightly enhanced analog stick and a better 2200mAh capacity battery.

HP 2310e is under 1 inch thick, with 1080p display, $289

Hp’s 2310e is a 1080p 23-inch monitor that is under an inch in thickness. The 2310e is pretty glossy and luxurious. The buttons are even replaced with touch-sensitive light-up controls. And the HP logo on the back lights up white when you turn it on.

It also has DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, 250 nits of brightness, a 5ms response time, and an 8,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. All of this for $289. It should be in the US on September 29th.

Nokia Star Trek Communicator

You probably already know that Nokia had some product placement in the latest Star Trek, but Nokia also made a few never-released prototypes for the movie. The beautiful “Starfleet Communicator” above apparently one of only 14 units made by Nokia, is intended to look like the comms of the original TV series.

It’s based on the N76 and comes with an external LCD and a trio of lights on front, with the familiar brass grill. It’s a fully functioning phone that really chirps when you flip it open. How awesome is that?

Franklin debuts AnyBook Reader for kids

Franklin has been in the electronics market with things like digital dictionaries and spelling devices for a long time the company has announced a new digital reader that isn’t like a Kindle as you might think. This digital reader looks like a pen and is aimed at kids that can’t read yet.

The child and the parent would place special stickers on each page of any book to use the AnyBook Reader. After the stickers are placed the parent or reader would follow along and touch the sticker on each page.

Crosley unveils new portable CR6002A turntable

I remember the old vinyl records that my parents had around the house as a kid. I had a few records when I was young too. I once left my copy of Funky Town in the sun only to find it melted and warped later. If you have a bunch of old records you want to listen to on the go or make into digital tracks Crosley has a new turntable for you.

The turntable is called the CR6002A and is a small and portable device that leaves the edges of the record uncovered. The device supports both 33 1/3 and 45-RPM records and has an integrated FM transmitter.

Most of us buy watches, assuming we even wear a watch, that are relatively cheap. There are some wealthy folks out there that buy watches more as a fashion statement than to tell time. One of the watchmakers that produce some of the coolest designs is Ulysse Nardin.

The latest creation from the maker is to celebrate the company owner’s 75 birthday. The watch is a limited edition and only 75 will be sold globally. The watch is called the Freak Diavolo Rolf 75. The cool part about the watch is that it lacks a true dial, crown, and hands. The pieces and gears that make the watch are exposed for all to see.

Mophie unveils juice pack powerstation for any USB gadget

Just about every smartphone on the market today charges from a USB port and lots of cameras and other gadgets do too. That means that when you need power on the go you can use a single battery pack, assuming it supports USB.

Mophie is best known for its line of juice pack battery cases for the iPhone. The company has announced a new battery pack called the juice pack powerstation that has a large 3600mAh battery inside. The cool part is that the battery pack has a pair of USB ports on the bottom for charging anything that uses a USB port.

Windows Phone 7 appears in Rachel Zoe commercial

Looks like Microsoft has teamed up with Rachel Zoe. The company has launched a Windows Phone 7 commercial based on the hit Bravo series The Rachel Zone Project. Rachel Zoe has always been a fan of RIM’s BlackBerry, but her husband Rodger Berman shows off his Samsung Omnia prototype running a Bing utility on Windows Phone 7.

As Windows Phone 7 gets closer to its launch time-frame, several leaks and official confirmations suggest that customers will be able to choose from a wide range of devices from the likes of LG, Samsung, and HTC.

iWallet Biometric wallet keeps your cash safe

iWallet is a secure biometric wallet that should keep your cash and cards safe from foreign hands. The device opens with your fingerprint, and alerts you when it loses Bluetooth contact with your cellphone.

Sounds great, but what is the cost? Will you have anything left to keep safe once you buy it? It’s available in a variety of colors, including a fiber glass model for $400 or a lightweight carbon fiber case for $600.

Sony unveils refreshed A850, S750 Walkman players in Japan

As usual, Sony has been busy updating their walkman range.They have just unveiled a fresh batch of Walkman players in Japan. The flagship is the NW-A850 series, which incorporates Sony’s S-Master amp, while the mid-range is the NSW-S740 series, which has most of the features of the flagship model without the amp. The NW-A850’s include a 2.8-inch OLED 240×400 screen, a body that is just 0.3 inches thin and, earphones with digital noise cancellation.

The mid-range NW-S740 also gets Digital Sound Enhancement and also includes digital noise cancelling headphones. The most interesting feature is an additional 50 hours of battery life over the previous model.
