WePad outsells iPad in Germany |
The WePad may sound like a Nintendo version of the iPad, but it’s no toy. It’s selling like gangbusters in Germany, where it has outsold Apple’s iPad.
Looking at the specs should tell you why. To refresh your memory, some specifications include an 11.6 inch display screen, an Atom N450 processor, 1 GB RAM, a 16GB/32GB SSD option, Wi-fi, Bluetooth, GPS, UMTS, a 1.3 megapixel processor, HD recording via a Broadcom Crystal HD Card and Windows 7.

Ummmm…….
First, amazon.de does not directly sell the ipad – it points to a non-amazon seller that is out of stock. Hard to say anything is outselling something else when the other item is not available at the outlet.
Second, wetab (not called wepad anymore) is not even shipping yet.
Third, amazon.de is not all germany. Most ipad sales probably take place through apple.de and Apple stores.
So this story is like saying ‘Macs outsell PC’s in Germany’ ‘They’re selling like gangbusters….’ without mentioning that the data comes from sales at Apple stores.
I do own an ipad and love it. I have to add that I somehow doubt the start-up time, speed of use and battery life of the wetab will match that of the ipad. Be careful what you buy.
this wacky tablet was so funny no one buys this crap in germany, at the moment this is not on the market in germany so far…
Complete and utter bs. The WePad isn’t available, and it will never outsell the iPad in Germany. This is some planted PR hoax or something.
Actually it’s not Windows 7 but MeeGo.. As anounced at the IFA
Wow, this thing is great. It outsells the iPad without even being released.
