Home theater fans have a new reason to be excited today as Onkyo adds a pair of new AV receivers to its already impressive line. The two new receivers are said to be mid-range offerings for the Onkyo line, which means they are still rather expensive by some standards.
The new parts include the RC270 and the RC260 receivers. Both of the receivers support 3D with HDMI 1.4a and 7.2 -channel surround sound. Supported codecs include Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. The receivers also have Audyssey DSX and Dolby Pro Logic IIz.
A Faroudja DCDI cinema video processor handles the upscaling of any source video resolution to 1080p. The RC270 also includes THX-Select 2Plus certification and it is DLNA 1.5 compatible and works with Windows 7. The network capabilities of the 270 let it stream internet radio from Pandora, Napster, Rhapsody and more. The 260 sells for $499 and the 270 will set you back $849.
