Opera has announced that the full version of the Mini 5.1 web browser is now available for download. The browser promises to speed up surfing the web on any Android smartphone. Opera claims that 61 million people are using the Mini browser globally.

The new version 5.1 for Android has some new features that will make it more appealing. 5.1 can be set as the default browser on Android smartphones. The browser is also optimized for use on devices with larger screens.

The new version compresses data before it hits the phone up to 90% for faster speeds. This makes it cheaper to surf the web for those on metered plans and faster as well. The browser has tabs, bookmarks and lots more. You can download it now on the Android Market.
