We weren’t sure what to expect from a Rock Band 3 keyboard. Would it be just a keyboard shaped box with colored buttons or something closer to an actual keyboard? Well, it looks like the keyboard has the usual white and black keys, with a row of colored labels above them.

How narrowly you have to hit the “real” key for the note in the song is based the difficulty level you select. In the easier levels you just have to be in the vicinity of the correctly colored area. The keyboard is also designed to work either on a lap or strapped over a shoulder.
