Speakal has a new iPhone and iPod dock that looks awesomely space age thanks to those iCrystals speakers with inverted pyramids that glow blue. We love the futuristic design. The dock comes in black, white, and red colors and has a 3.5mm input for your other devices.

The iCrystal is powered by four AA batteries or the AC outlet if you don’t want to waste batteries. You can buy it right now for $79.99. This thing looks good.

Midnight Blue Nintendo DSi XL coming in July

Posted in Nintendo DSi by Conner Flynn on June 8th, 2010

We know that Japan has some new colors for its DSi XL, but we weren’t sure if we would be getting any new colors here in the States. Well, it looks like we are and that color is Midnight Blue. I know, it’s very underwhelming isn’t it?

In Japan they are getting yellow, blue and green, but apparently we just get this blue version, which leaves us feeling blue too. when it’s released in July.

Recently some leaked pictures of the BlackBerry Curve 9300 showed up. The device is codenamed Kepler and now even more images of the device have surfaced. This one will be the replacement for the Curve 8500.

The details are still unconfirmed of course and even though this one is running BlackBerry OS 5, it is rumored that it will support BlackBerry OS 6 at some point. We’ll let you know more when we know more.

Phoneballs iPhone case

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on June 8th, 2010

Dropped calls? This iPhone case has dropped balls. Normally a case will protect your phone, but I’m not so sure this one will. After all, haven’t countless videos shown us that balls are like magnets when it comes to being kicked and punched in them?

Seems like it would draw some sort of vicious ball attack. They come in blue and peach and will cost you $15. Not sure why you would want that end near your mouth while using your phone, but at least 10% of all proceeds go to testicular cancer research.

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 public beta coming next month

Posted in Windows by Conner Flynn on June 8th, 2010

In late July, Microsoft will release the first Service Pack for Windows 7, but don’t expect any significant performance enhancements that will improve the overall OS experience. It doesn’t need any heavy fixes.

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 is just a combination of existing updates, outside of the new Remote Desktop to support new Windows Server 2008 SP1 features. Luckily, Windows 7 doesn’t need the same kind of service pack that Vista required just to be stable. The public beta of SP1 will be released at the end of July and the final version will be released soon after.

Tokyo Flash’s Changing Lanes watch

Posted in Watches by Conner Flynn on June 8th, 2010

The latest watch from Tokyo Flash was inspired by taxis and other vehicles weaving through rush hour traffic. As usual, it a puzzle to figure out how to read the time on this one. The lights that are going down the left side of the watchface are the hours, with 1:00 being at the very top, and 6:00 at the bottom. The next ‘lane’ shows the hours of 7:00 to 12:00, starting from the bottom and going up.

Then on the right side you have the minutes, in three minute segments. 3 is at the top, and down the bottom is 27 minutes, while the lane to the left of the far-right increasing to 57 minutes at the north of the watch. Quarter-minutes, 15 and 45, are in the middle, and 2 minute intervals will light up separately. Frankly, I’m still confused.

Sony has a thing for super bright colors with their new 14-inch VAIO EA and 17.3-inch EC Series. They come in vibrant 80′s colors, like bright green, blue, and pink. And also the plainer matte white, brown and black. These systems will cost you around $700.

Both sport a Core i3 350M CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium. No Blu-ray options here, but both have optical drives and HDMI ports. Sony also added its instant-on OS, which you can launch by hitting the handy WEB button above the keyboard.

Sony VAIO J all-in-one

Posted in Sony by Conner Flynn on June 8th, 2010

You have plenty of AIO options these days, but Sony’s new 21.5-inch VAIO J is one of the sexier options out there. Like it’s larger bro, the 24-inch L Series, the VAIO J has a 1920×1080-resolution display and a Blu-ray drive, but the larger model now features a 2.66GHz Intel Core i7-620M CPU, up to 8GB of RAM, and NVIDIA discrete graphics options with 512 vRAM. There’s also a 7,200rpm 500GB hard drive and it runs Windows 7 Premium, with Sony having added its touch-friendly Media Gallery software layer.

The L starts at $1,300, but the J will arrive next month starting at $900. You could always find cheaper models, but they don’t look this good.

Check out this odd laptop docking station. The Notebook USB Audio Station features a universal design for Mac and PC. Basically it props your machine up on a pair of 8-watt speakers, giving you an elevated stand and improved sound.

Wait. There’s more. There’s also a three-port powered USB hub on board so you can keep everything charged up. It can be had for under $60, but for the moment it’s only available on the company’s website and in Apple stores.

Orange announces boots to charge your gadgets

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on June 7th, 2010

Orange has launched a new accessory. One that won’t be winning any fashion awards anytime soon. I mean look at that pic. Why would you put an ugly pair of boots on such a hot girl? Anyway these boots are designed to charge your mobile phone and are called Orange Power Wellies.

The Orange Power Wellies will give you enough power to charge your phone for one hour after you’ve walked for twelve hours. Your feet will be sore, but at least you’ll have an hour of juice.
