Sony unveils special edition Billabong VAIO W netbook

Posted in Sony by Conner Flynn on May 24th, 2010

Sony’s VAIO W netbook is one of the most expensive in it’s class, so you can be excused for not picking one up, but this may just entice you to do so. This limited edition VAIO W has been announced in Australia, designed in a partnership with Billabong.

So if dripping paints and lime are your thing, this one should ship Down Under next month. The 10.1-inch machine features a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N450 CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 1,366 x 768 resolution panel, Windows 7 Starter and a GPU that won’t do 1080p.

There’s also an Ethernet jack, two USB 2.0 sockets, built-in webcam and a 250GB hard drive, all for the crazy price of AU$749 ($619).

Is it just me or does this laptop look like an oil spill? May be poor judgement timing to release this design given the current times.

  2. Henry Says:

Windows 7 Starter? – Uggggg If these came with Home Premium I would easily buy one.
