Mini Donut Factory makes six donuts at once

Posted in Home by Conner Flynn on May 13th, 2010

Who doesn’t love donuts? Nobody I know. And with this Mini Donut Factory you can make six at a time. Sure, donuts are supposed to be deep-fried, but it’s probably healthier this way anyhow.

Make as many as you want, right on your desk. The best part is that this Mini Donut Factory costs just $20. It’s totally worth it. I can taste them now. I’ll be getting one of these myself. Don’t tell my wife.

PSP2 to be announced at E3?

Posted in PSP by Conner Flynn on May 13th, 2010

Rumors are swirling that Sony will be announcing a new version of the PSP in just a few weeks at E3. And we aren’t talking something like the PSPGo. We’re talking a true PSP successor.

With E3 just around the corner in June, we will know for sure soon. Don’t forget, Sony needs something to compete with Nintendo’s 3DS. Sony’s latest financial results show that they absolutely need a new PSP. How about 14.1million PSP sales in 2008, to 9.9million in 2009?

Optimus Popularis keyboard due next year

Posted in Keyboards by Conner Flynn on May 13th, 2010

Feeling like it’s time to upgrade that Optimus Maximus keyboard? Maybe something a bit smaller? Well, the Popularis, which was announced about two years ago is coming along nicely and on target to start production later this year with a release in 2011.

The Popularis will have full-color keys, but apparently they are not OLED this time. We won’t know an exact price until it arrives, but we are hoping it’s cheaper than the $1,000 price they originally quoted.

You can bet that a glut of new 3D products are coming to market and before long, we will have a gob of 3D cameras and video cameras to choose from. Fujitsu is showing off some of its new products at its Fujitsu Forum 2010 in Tokyo.

Among the gear that the company is showing off is an all in one PC that sports a 3D webcam. The camera lets users have 3D video chats and conference calls.

Sprint and Walmart unveil Common Cents prepaid wireless plans

Posted in Sprint by Shane McGlaun on May 13th, 2010

One of the things that has bothered me about pretty much all the wireless plans out there is that they round minutes up. If you go into the next minute even for a second most plans charge you for the whole minute.

Sprint and Walmart have announced a new plan called the Common Cents plan that is a prepaid wireless plan that does the opposite of most calling plans. It rounds down to the lowest minute. That means a call lasting 1:45 seconds will only cost you the price of a minute.

Mi-Stylus works on iPad and iPhone

Posted in iPad accessories,iPhone Accessories by Shane McGlaun on May 13th, 2010

I have had an iPhone for a long time now and there are some days when I still wish I had a stylus for touching small links and keys on the screen. I have used a stylus before that was designed to work on the iPhone, but it was too large for good accuracy.

A new stylus has launched called the Mi-Stylus that has a tip made form a composite that will work on the screen of the iPhone and iPad. The flat tip is great for touching larger icons and buttons while the edge is good for smaller keys.

Eton Scorpion keeps your gadgets going on solar power and elbow grease

Posted in Green Gadget by Shane McGlaun on May 13th, 2010

I am more of an indoors type. I’m not really into camping and while I do go outside with the kids a lot, we don’t stray too far from an outlet. However, a while back when a hurricane came through the power was out for hours and I would have paid dearly for a gadget like the Eton Scorpion.

The device is a power generator for USB charging gadgets that has both a solar panel and a hand crank to generate charging power. The gadget also has a number of other features inside.

Win-star USB 2.0 10-port hub with power adapter

Posted in USB by Conner Flynn on May 12th, 2010

The Win-star 10-port USB hub manages to look a bit futuristic and the circular shape provides 10 downstream ports and 1 upstream port. It supports the USB 2.0 interface for a data transfer rate of up to 480Mbps. Interestingly, the Win-star 10-port USB hub is also backward compatible with the USB 1.1 interface.

The Win-star 10-port USB hub is compatible with Microsoft Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista and Mac OS X or later. Each purchase comes with a USB 2.0 cable and a 5V/2A power adapter. We just like the unusual design.

C-3PO Bespin backpack now available for Pre-Order

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on May 12th, 2010

Remember in Empire Strikes Back when Chewie had to carry a dismembered C-3PO around on his back? Well, now you can too. Sort of. As a backpack. And it’s available for pre-order from ThinkGeek. Made from golden leatherette, Threepio comes with a mesh pouch with backpack straps for holding all of his appendages, and the torso features a zippered pocket for storing stuff inside him.

It would be awesome to carry your iPad in this. Well, if your idea of awesome is to see a lot of people pointing and laughing at an adult nerd. The eyes even light up and flicker, and he can be fully assembled into a 3+ foot tall protocol droid.

Forget the iPad, I want a Star Trek PADD

Posted in Sci-Fi by Conner Flynn on May 12th, 2010

Ever since Star Trek The Next Generation, we have dreamed of a tablet computer device that could make all of our dreams come true. Whether watching Netflix, or checking on the status of your crew. Sadly, we still don’t have such a device. Sure there’s the iPad, but what about a functioning computer tablet that looks exactly like those sleek handhelds used in Star Trek?

Sadly it doesn’t exist. But this is a pretty close replica of the actual prop used in the series, a resin prop replica of the DS9 PADD. It’s apparently hand-made by the same artists who created the props for the TV series.

Gemy bathtub and shower in one

Posted in Home by Conner Flynn on May 12th, 2010

Can’t decide if you want a bath or a shower? Then why not check out this combination of both. Take a bath, take a shower or both at the same time. You’ll get massaging jets of water that will ease away all of the stress and worries of your day, while an integrated thermostat ensures that the water remains at the same temperature at all times.

Everything about this luxury spa tub/shower is computer controlled, like the intelligent water level check, ozone sterilizing, massage jets. A few headrests and the automatic cleaning system to make life joy. I almost feel relaxed already.

Aside from that, this machine features a multi-memory card reader, 12 USB ports, Blu-ray and HDMI options alongside ATI’s Eyefinity technology that lets you output the display to a few monitors. The hard drive is located on the front so it can be swapped easily.

Acer 7552G Notebook with AMD Vision Technology

Posted in Acer by Conner Flynn on May 12th, 2010

I like a large notebook for watching movies, though large notebooks aren’t for everybody. Here’s a notebook with a large display that looks pretty nice. The Acer 7552G. We don’t have many technical details just yet, but we do know that it comes with the latest AMD Vision Technology, combining the AMD Phenom II Quad-core mobile CPU with ATI Mobility Radeon HD graphics.

A notebook with this size display is great for multimedia capabilities, hence the included Blu-ray drive and HDMI output.

Samsung SNE-60 eBook reader headed to the UK

Posted in ebooks by Conner Flynn on May 12th, 2010

With the Apple iPad on the way to the UK, it perhaps isn’t the best timing for Samsung to ship its SNE-60 eBook reader to the UK, but that’s their problem. If you want an Apple alternative, the SNE-60 packs a 6-inch 600 x 800 greyscale e-ink display and measures 171 x 120 x 16mm and weighs in at 315g.

It has Wi-Fi built-in, but no 3G. The built-in memory should store 1,200 eBooks, and there’s also the SD memory card slot. Other features of the SNE-60 include support for ePub, PDF and TXT formats, a built-in dictionary, text-to-speech, and MP3 playback.
