Google search gets a new look

Posted in Google by Conner Flynn on May 5th, 2010

Google has decided to introduce a new look to their search results, making it even easier to search for and find exactly what you’re looking for. There’s some simple left-hand navigation the new Google look, but we’ll let the video tell you all about it.

I’ll just say that I happened upon the changes by accident last night and was quite pleased with what I found. In general, contextually relevant, left-hand navigation has been added to the page, while the overall look and feel has also undergone some slight changes.

Hi, I got served with Google’s new look sometime in mid-March 2010 (http://www.toandinh.ca/googles-new-look-april-15-2010/)

It feels exactly like Bing. What do you think?

Absolutely rabbish. This is no improvement. The $hit looks like yahoo, msn and other stupid search engines with lots of ads. This is nothing but more more ads.

Wondering if anyone remembered those old very very simple google days where everything was much nicer and didn’t even have a right hand side ad tool.

Google you are not my favourite anymore. Die with the others….

  4. Lindsey Says:

Awful. Crowded layout, looks like every other search engine. The options I wasn’t using before are now crammed in my face.

If there were a retro option, I’d use it. For now, I’m gonna use Google to search for a less terrible option.

  5. Paul Dearing Says:

New design gives less space to results and more to GOOGLE image and non-information layout.

Bye Bye Google hello Yahoo. I’ll check back later but the new design is a retrograde step.

  6. googlis regularis Says:

.i like my search engine results plain, relevant and uncluttered.

This “toolbar” is nothing more than a waste of desktop real estate, it offers nothing new or of relevance… i for one would like to see a preference option to be able to turn off this “feature”.

I’m all for change and i guess so is google…

  7. Rob Says:

this really is rubbish, dont like using it … you have forgotten why you were number 1 ……………. sad that has happened as someone who promoted google as the best in the world , this option is now changed and you are crap…
bye bye goggle time to die…………

  8. steve Says:

  11. TechDubDoob Says:

I’m not a big fan of the new design. I can appreciate what it offers in terms of a more refined search, but it’s a little too cluttered for my tastes.
