Posted in Wii by Conner Flynn on April 29th, 2010

As we recently told you, the black version of Nintendo’s Wii gaming console will be hitting the US very soon, and now a picture of a print ad from GameStop has surfaced to confirm it.

It confirms the launch and confirms that the bundle will be priced at $199.99. So there you have it, the Wii is back in black. But are you guys still playing the Wii? Mine has been collecting dust for over a year.

Personally, I think this is smart of Nintendo. In truth, this console is only now looking like a worthwhile purchase to me, because there are actually some upcoming exclusive titles for it that look fun to play. That, paired with this news of a new, sleeker look, is finally going to push me into a purchase, I believe. It’s odd that while the competitors are now looking into their own versions of casual gaming devices, the Wii finally moves into a more all-inclusive market, with more serious titles and a professional look lined up for it. Who knew that the roles of these consoles would switch around like that?

I think that nintendo is very stupid for sending the black wii to canada last. I mean the fact that canada sold 3.4 million wii consoles in the last year is cruciating. so why do we have to wait until may 23? this whole thing is a scam to get more consumers. nice try nintendo. next time, think bigger and smarter.
