Sony PS3 update 3.21 removes “Other OS” feature

Posted in Sony by Shane McGlaun on March 29th, 2010

I have had a PS3 since the console launched and I have seen the other OS feature on the machine several times, but I have never used it. I bet that most of you are the same way.

If you do use the other OS feature for some reason you have a decision to make. Sony has Announced that the latest firmware update that is set to hit this week will eliminate the Other OS feature.

That means that once you update your firmware, you can never go back to the other OS feature. The only option if you want to keep the feature is to not update again — ever. That means no 3D if you don’t give up your Other OS feature.
