WTF Jeans have special pockets for all your gadgets

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on March 5th, 2010

WTF Jeans has pockets for just about every gadget you own. About the only thing that won’t fit in a pocket, is your laptop.

They are specialty jeans that will handle everything from USB sticks to your phones. Regular jeans just won’t do. For instance, your iPhone and iPod Touch can be safely tucked away in the micro-fiber insulated pocket that has been measured and cut so it doesn’t move around.

Posted in iPad by Conner Flynn on March 5th, 2010

It’s official. The iPad is launching in the US on April 3. The 3G model is coming later in the month. Pre-orders start on March 12. We still don’t have an exact date for the 3G model, but we know it’s in late April. Pre-orders start a week from today.

In Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK, both the Wi-Fi and 3G models are launching simultaneously in “late April.” Will there be shortages? How many native iPad apps will launch with it? Still so many questions.

HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam “Butterfly Lovers” netbook debuts

Posted in HP by Shane McGlaun on March 5th, 2010

The real geeks out there tend to look at design of computers and netbooks secondary to the performance and hardware the machine offers. There are others out there who buy based on looks more than performance and for this group HP has unveiled its latest netbook designed by Vivienne Tam.

The netbook is the average Mini 210 decked out in gold color with Tam’s “Butterfly Lovers” design on the lid. The design has butterflies on the lid along with matching screen savers and other digital content.

Rich, geeky, and live by the water? We have the toy for you!

If I were loaded and could stand to be in the 650-degree Texas summer heat longer than it takes to sprint from the house to my car, I would totally buy the Jetlev Flyer. The thing is a combination of a jet ski and a jetpack.

You strap into the pack, which has twin nozzles behind the pilot and a pair of handles that control the thrust allowing control over altitude. The long yellow hose you see in the picture here attaches to a motor on a boat that trolls along behind the Jetlev Flyer.

Plants might have a chance at my house with Plant Mate

Posted in Concepts by Shane McGlaun on March 5th, 2010

If plants should ever take over the world and only Mark Walberg, M. Night Shyamalan, and I are left to stand trial for mistreatment of innocent houseplants, I will be in big trouble. I have single handedly killed tons of my plants over the years from simply not watering them.

A new design concept at Yanko Design is cool and if I could get a set of the things, my plants might have a chance. The solar power Plant Mate sticks poke into the ground and would sense the moisture levels and nutrients in the soil.

Darth Vader disco ball hovers over nerds who can’t dance

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on March 4th, 2010

Look at the mirrored face of evil. Take a good hard look, because Star Wars could have turned out a lot different since it was made in the 70′s, when Disco ruled. Darth Vader could have been just a mirrored disco ball head on top of a polyester Leisure suit, force choking suckers on the dance floor. Thank god Lucas didn’t go that route.

There isn’t much info on this thing, but it was obviously made by nerds who like to shake their groove thing.

Double-Axis Tourbillion watch is mysterious, amazing

Posted in Watches by Conner Flynn on March 4th, 2010

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen a watch as amazing as this one. Amazing doesn’t even do it justice. In fact, the more you look at it, the more it mesmerizes you. Thomas Prescher’s Double Axis Tourbillon is completely empty of everything except the tourbillon, which is just hovering in the center, suspended by a thin wire.

Only the time, Tourbillon, calendar and oscillating weight are visible. The movement is completely hidden inside the bezel, and it’s powered by the oscillating weight at the top. You can’t help but stare at this thing for way too long.

Litter Robot 2 Bubble Unit: No cat should poop in the dark

Posted in Pets by Conner Flynn on March 4th, 2010

Let me ask you something. How often do you poop in the dark? Exactly, you don’t. That’s what the bathroom light switch is for. So there’s no reason you should expect your cat to poop in the dark either. The Litter Robot 2 Bubble Unit offers larger sized cats more room to relieve themselves. And I’m assuming that larger cats hold more poop, so it makes sense.

The unit has a new ‘Skylight/Bubble’ window, so your cat not only has more room, but also a room with a view. A poopy room with a view. And a foul stench.

Full QWERTY Keyboard BlackBerry Pearl 9100?

Posted in BlackBerry by Conner Flynn on March 4th, 2010

There’s no official confirmation on this just yet, so it resides in rumor territory at the moment, but check out this picture of a replacement keyboard for the BlackBerry Pearl 9100. If it’s real, then you may just get a full QWERTY keyboard on your 9100.

Last we heard, the 9100 would be using RIM’s SureType keyboard, but if this fits on the BlackBerry Pearl 9100, you might get a full QWERTY keyboard. Which would you want? I vote QWERTY.

Energy 888D cellphone is curvy

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on March 4th, 2010

Here’s an unusual phone design. It has curves in all the wrong places. It has a fully curved display, which is kind of cool, but not very practical. The Energy 888D is unusual for sure.

We don’t know very much about it, but whats to know? It has curves and a pink finish. That should be enough incentive to stay away. The clip on the back will make sure that it is always with you, since it’s not pocket-friendly.

Roly Poly Iron won’t burn your shirt

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on March 4th, 2010

You know how it is. Every time you and your wife get into a disagreement your shirt ends up getting burnt by the iron. Just an accident surely, but well timed. Well we can’t help you with that, but we can make sure that the iron itself doesn’t burn your shirt.

The Roly Poly Iron will make sure of it. When the iron is left on its own without anybody holding it, the moving weight in the handle rocks to the back of the iron, which tips it backwards to a standing position. Pretty neat. When you come back, just grab the handle and use it.

Thodio A-Box Speaker

Posted in Speakers by Conner Flynn on March 4th, 2010

If you like your speakers rugged and inside an ammo box, then look what we have here. Perfect for blasting tunes on the battlefield or anywhere else where people are trying to kill you. The Thodio A-Box Speaker might be crammed inside a retro ammo box, but it’s creator swears that it’s all high quality.

It has a 6mm trespa on the inside with vibration dampening material, to help out the quality of sound and it’s durable enough for outside use of course. It will turn Apocalypse Now into Apocalypse wow, while your Platoon is jamming the night away.
