Archos 9 Tablet gets upgraded to 1.2GHz Atom Z515 processor

Posted in Tablet PC by Conner Flynn on March 23rd, 2010

Well looky here. The Archos 9 tablet has just received a processor upgrade, from the original 1.1GHz Intel Atom Z510 CPU to the 1.2GHz Atom Z515 CPU with Hyper-Threading and Intel Burst Performance Technology. Even with the upgrade, the device still sells for the same $549.99 price tag, so that’s a bonus.

To remind you, some other specifications of the Archos 9 tablet are an 8.9-inch display, 32GB SSD, Windows 7 Starter Edition, and 1GB of RAM. Looks like now is the time to buy it.

It’s not an SSD it a HDD and it’s 60 GB, unless that is upgraded too

I am the proud owner of these newly updated Archos 9 and the performance increase is real nice! It plays youtube and hulu just fine! Boot time is about 1 minute which is not bad compared to the previous 1.1ghz cpu. It still has the original 60gb drive. I am going to upgrade it to a SSD and should notice nice improvements in read/load times.
