Nintendo DSi XL is also an ebook reader |
As if we needed yet another ebook reader on the market. Well, the DSi XL’s larger display could be good for reading some classics. Nintendo knows that there’s money in the ebook market so they will be offering a downloadable package of ebooks called 100 classic books.
It will hit Wii channels on June 14th for $20. Then you can take a break from gaming to read some actual literature. Maybe some Mark Twain or Dickens. Assuming that they offer anything of that quality anyway.

I recently wanted an ebook reader, but I didn’t have the money to shell out for it. But I did have a DSi laying around and a website… So I created a free “mobile ebook reader” website. It works for any compliant web capable device with an internet connection including hand held game devices like the DSi, and PSP, it also happens to works on game consoles like the WII,and XBox 360 (as well as regular PC’s) I have not tested a lot of other devices as I don’t own them… but everything I have works good.
The site: http://ebook.taggedzi.com
It (at present) has over 500 books (all classics) that can be freely viewed by mobile devices (like my DSi). It does not make you “download” a book, it serves the book one page at a time specifically FOR mobile devices. It offers (for registered users) book marks so that you can pick up where you left off, and a “book shelf” so that you can have a list of books you would like to read.
I just created the site (last month)… so it is early in its evolution, but so far it works great on my DSi (and my old cell phone.). I made the site for me, but figured I’d make it visible to the public. Enjoy.
