MSI drops CX420 and CR420 notebooks

Posted in MSI by Shane McGlaun on February 1st, 2010

Over the last few months, it has seemed that I run across more notebooks being debuted in 14-inch screen sizes than the old standby 15.4-inch size that was common not long ago. Case in point, MSI has debuted a pair of new almost twin notebooks called the CX420 and CR420.

Both of the machines sport 14-inch 1366 x 768 LED backlit LCDs. The machines also both run Windows 7 Home Premium and will use one of the new 2010 Intel Core processors. MSI doesn’t get specific on the processor though. The only difference in the two machines is graphics.

The CX420 will feature ATI HD5470 discrete graphics along with Intel HD integrated graphics. The CR420 gets the Intel integrated graphics alone. Other features include up to 4GB of RAM, up to 500GB of storage, 6-cell battery, WiFi, memory card reader, and Bluetooth. Pricing and availability for the notebooks is unknown.
