Last year the product category everyone wanted to get in on was eReaders. Now we have eReaders from just about every company capable of producing them. This year the big category everyone wants in on appears to be the tablet market. We can thank the iPad for that.

The latest tablet to be unveiled is the iiView Vpad that is more like a netbook without a keyboard than the iPad. The machine runs an Intel Atom processor and Windows. It has USB ports, Ethernet, and VGA out as well as a memory card reader. The screen is a 10.2-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 600.

Four models will be offered with the cheapest at $499 for 160GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, and WiFi. Model 2 gets 320GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, and WiFi for $599. Model 3 gets 160GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, WiFi, and 3G for $599. The most expensive model gets 320GB HDD, 2GB of RAM, WiFi, and 3G for $699.

Overpriced netbook!! I bought an msi wind for $270.00. A touchscreen kit for $70.00. If you lose the keyboard, trackpad, case for the screen, hinges, etc., it should be selling for bout $250.00.
