Wireless HD streaming coming to a TV near you

Posted in Television by Conner Flynn on January 3rd, 2010

There’s nothing like HD video and if you want to stream HD video content in your home, you’ll want to check out AXAR at CES 2010. It was created by ProVision and the technology should arrive in TVs, set-top boxes and network devices by Christmas 2010. That’s not too long of a wait.

ProVision has already worked with companies like Thomson, Pace, ITV, Toshiba and Sky, so AXAR may be used by them first. Instead of using a wireless network or the Internet to send and receive the signal, AXAR will be sending the signal from Component or HDMI over the air to a dedicated receiver.

As the technology stands right now it supports 2 separate HD streams at once. We’re looking forward to seeing more at CES 2010.
