ZiiLABS unveils Trinity smartphone platform

ziitrinity-sbSmartphones are big business despite the sagging economy with consumers flocking to the devices in droves. One of the most popular smartphone OS’ is Android and ZiiLABS has unveiled a new development platform called the Trinity that supports it.

The platform is a smartphone/multimedia phone that sports a 3.1-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 480 x 800. The device supports 1080p video and has a mini HDMI out port. It can operate on quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks, Tri-band WCDMA networks, and HSDPA networks.

The platform is designed to run either Android or Plaszma. Main storage is to microSD cards but the handset has 256MB of onboard memory. The device sports WiFi, Bluetooth, and hardware GPS. Power comes from an 1130mAH lithium polymer battery.
