Sony and RealD 3D team for home 3D gear

reald-logo-sgI was glad to hear this week that the specifications for 3D Blu-ray had been finalized. I was even more excited to hear that my PS3 would support 3D Blu-ray reaffirming my feeling that the PS3 is the best Blu-ray player around.

Sony and RealD announced today that they were teaming up to bring RealD 3D tech to the home in Sony TVs and other products. If you have seen a 3D film at the theater recently it was probably powered by RealD tech.

Sony will be adding RealD technology into its Bravia HDTVs and into a new line of 3D glasses needed for viewing 3D content. I can’t wait for 3D movies to be available on 3D and it looks like it time for me to start saving to upgrade my TV to a 3D ready set!
