RedEye: Turn your iPhone into a Universal Remote

RedEye: Turn your iPhone into a Universal RemoteRedEye is a device that will turn your iPhone or iPod Touch into a fully functional universal remote that can be used to control a wide range of equipment. Anything from your HDTV, Cable Box, and even your DVD player or Blu-ray player.

Here’s how it works. Your iPhone or iPod touch sends commands to the receiver unit via WiFi, then the signals are converted into infrared and sent to your AV equipment. Since everyone and their eighty year old grandmother already has an iPhone, this could truly be one remote to rule them all.

It’s fully customizable and can be configured with a range of macros that can turn on multiple pieces of equipment at once, like turning on your TV and your Blu-ray player so that you can start playing your favorite Blu-ray disc with the touch of a button. Very nice.
