Posted in USB Flash Drives by Conner Flynn on December 14th, 2009

Rad Blaster Mini Boombox MP3 Player and flash driveThe Rad Blaster will play your music, record sounds and store files, while pleasing you with it’s boombox design. Who doesn’t love a mini boombox?

Rad Blaster also throws in a 1.1-inch OLED screen and 2GB of built-in memory. It’s larger than a shuffle, but for $60 we really don’t care anyway. It’s a boombox! It’s mini! In the old days it was better to have a larger boombox, but that led to shoulder problems and like 40 C batteries a week. Just visit any nursing home. They’ll tell ya.

Posted in NVIDIA by Shane McGlaun on December 14th, 2009

nvidiagtx300-sgIt has been a while since we have seen a new high-end video card come out of NVIDIA. It’s competitor ATI recently launched its new HD 5970 and claimed the title of fastest video card. It seems NVIDIA is ready to fire back in the video card wars with new cards of its own.

The new GTX 300 family will include the GTX 380 and GTX 360 video cards. The new cards are both going to offer more performance than NVIDIA’s current GTX 295 offering. The GTX 380 will have better performance than the HD 5970 in some benchmarks with the GTX 360 trailing right behind the ATI offering.

Road Mice look like cars and work like a mouse

roadmice-sgNovelty mice are all fine and good, but most of them don’t really appeal to me. The typical novelty mouse isn’t very easy to use either. Road Mice has announced a new line of mice that look like popular cars.

You can get the mice in the shape of several really cool cars. You can get a Shelby GT500, Lamborghini, Challenger, Dodge Viper and more. The mice connect to Mac or Windows computers via USB.

Posted in ebooks by Shane McGlaun on December 14th, 2009

newyorkermedge-sbI have never, ever felt the need to read an issue of the New Yorker magazine. I’ve seen a few issues on the table at the various doctor’s appointments I have been to and recognize that the mag likes artsy covers. If you are a fan of the publication M-Edge is now offering a jacket for the Kindle featuring one of three cover designs.

The line is called the New Yorker Kindle Jacket and has covers called “Booktropolis,” “Book Lovers,” and “Sunday Afternoon in Central Park.” The cover of the Go! Jacket with the special artwork is 100% leather and the inside is tan microfiber.

They will ship on February 14th 2010. Nothing on price just yet, but we should be talking about $40. The odd thing here is that Nintendo doesn’t want to release color-matching nunchuks.

Sony Ericsson intros Elm Candybar PhoneEnvironmentalists will like this one. The Sony Ericsson Elm is a candybar phone, and the latest addition to Sony Ericsson’s GreenHeart line, which is all about helping the company reduce its CO2 emissions by 20 percent by the year 2015.

So how do they plan to do that? Well, the phone is made from recycled plastic, uses a low-power charger and comes with minimal packaging. We don’t have any info on price yet, but the Elm will be available in the first quarter of 2010.

Retro Philco PC concept

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on December 14th, 2009

Retro Philco PC concept This concept looks like it came out of the 1950s, while it would also look at home in the Jetson’s home of the future. This retro Philco PC concept is designed by SchultzeWORKS design studio. The moment you see it you easily spot all of the retro design elements from 50′s televisions, typewriters, etc.

It’s just plain sexy and classy. Sure, it has Windows 7, but we don’t even care. We are too in love with the design. The keyboard alone is drool-worthy.

Two-week shipping delays for 27-inch iMacs

Posted in iMac by Conner Flynn on December 13th, 2009

Two-week shipping delays for 27-inch iMacsApple has pushed back the shipping time for all 27-inch iMacs to two weeks. The company already delayed them by five to seven days earlier. This delay is believed to have something to do with a quality measure involving cracked screens on delivery and also systems that experience periodic flickering or lose their video signal completely.

This is not good news for Apple since it will delay many orders past Christmas. This means that it will disappoint buyers and could also affect Apple’s quarterly results, which were given a boost by new iMac revisions. So don’t expect your new 27-inch iMac under the tree this year.

Hello Kitty LCD TV with remote

Posted in Hello Kitty by Conner Flynn on December 13th, 2009

Hello Kitty LCD TV with remote I think I just threw up a little in my mouth looking at this sickeningly cute 13 inch LCD TV with digital tuner. It’s shaped like what else? Only Hello Kitty could make a grown man vomit a little. The LCD supports a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, a brightness of 275cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 500:1 and a lame viewing angle of 100 degrees.

It also comes with a matching remote shaped like a ribbon. The onboard speakers will deliver an output of 3W x 2 ch. More than enough for any girl’s room.

BlackBerry App World launches in Australia and New Zealand

BlackBerry App World launches in Australia and New ZealandBlackBerry users in Australia and New Zealand now have something to smile about. RIM has officially launched BlackBerry App World, (its very own version of the App Store) in Australia and New Zealand. This is important for obvious reasons. The most important aspect of any powerful phone these days are the apps.

Maybe this will get Blackberry sales up in the land down under while the iPhone goes on walkabout. You never know. Hey at least you’ve learned something new about that part of the world. Something that has nothing to do with Nicole Kidman hailing from there, Mad Max movies, kangaroos or vegemite.

Google Nexus One makes an appearance

Google Nexus One makes an appearanceWell, now we know that the Google Nexus One exists. Perhaps there really is a Santa Claus as well. This higher resolution picture is supposedly the Nexus One and is the talk of the internets.

Physically thisthe same as the HTC Passion, without the HTC logo on top. We hear ya, you can’t wait to give this Google Phone a try. We agree. They had us when they tweeted “Google Phone = iPhone + a little extra screen and a scroll wheel. Great touch screen, and Android.”
