Eigenharp to make official US debut |
I am not a musician, as close as I get to making music is Rock Band. I can only imagine how much time it would take to learn an instrument like the piano or guitar that have been around for ages, much less learning to play a brand new type of instrument like the Eigenharp.
The Eigenharp is a strange cross between a wind instrument, a keyboard, and a string instrument. Two versions are offered including the Pico and the Alpha. The Alpha versions is a full-size concert version of the device and the Pico is a small handheld version.




This winter Olympics are set to kick off this winter. I can’t imagine what sort of undertaking hosting the Olympic games is. I am sure that it take hoards of computers though. Acer is a worldwide Olympic partner and the company has unveiled some special edition hardware to celebrate.

Oh joy. The Blu-ray Disc Association has now issued the official specs for 3D Blu-ray, confirming that the discs will be backwards-compatible. The PS3 will be able to play 3D Blu-ray discs, and upcoming 3D players will be able to play 2D discs as well.
According to a new study by Scott Owens out of the University of Mississippi, the Wii Fit has very little effect on family fitness levels. A Wii Fit was loaned to eight families and their usage and fitness impact were tracked over time (three months before they got the Wii, and three months after).
This winter several American states are reporting that LED traffic lights are so energy efficient that they don’t produce enough heat to melt any snow that covers them. And this is causing accidents. One of the side effects of the previously used incandescent light bulbs was that they would melt any snow that covered them.

PMP maker OPPO will launch their first Android-powered smartphone in the first quarter of 2010. It looks like it came right out of the future. The phone features a 3.5-inch WQGA (800 x 480) capacitive multitouch screen, a QWERTY keyboard, WiFi and of course the Android OS.
Packard Bell has a new theme for their new dot laptops. The Valentino Rossi edition will offer up some style on the outside.There are no details on specs, but the laptop may have an Intel CULV processor, GMA 4500MHD graphics and maybe a terabyte or more.
Soon you’ll be tweeting and retweeting in glorious HD thanks to Microsoft, who is planning to release a Twitter app for the Zune HD personal media player. The free app will be available tomorrow morning at 9 AM sharp, downloadable via the Zune software on a PC or over a wireless connection.
I’m sick of remembering passwords, but I know my face when I see it. So does the Lockface USB drive. It uses facial recognition so that only you have access to your files. And it mocks you with a goofy face of it’s own.
This may not be the most powerful camera on the market and you won’t find a ton of fancy features, but if you’re looking for a cheap camcorder, this may be the one for you. The Yashica DVC525HD is at least worth a look as it will only cost you 9980 Yen (or $111).

It’s funny how companies can change. BenQ used to make cheap, but decent electronics. They still make the cheap stuff, but they offer some premium gear too. We’ve been impressed by some of their offerings lately.
