Potential fix for 1 million banned Xbox 360s

Posted in Xbox 360 by Conner Flynn on November 14th, 2009

Xbox 360 console ban is foreverIf you are one of the million or so Xbox Live users who were banned from the service, things aren’t as bad as we thought. Some modders are working on a solution that will revert the firmware to a state that is nearly the same as the stock firmware. Hopefully the end result means that you’ll be able to use your console again and not have to buy a new one.

Right now two fixes are being worked on: the iXtremeLT and one from Xbox-Scene. The first isn’t ready yet, and the latter works, but you should be aware, it is very complex.

    Understatement of the year

I heard that even if you work around it, Microsoft will still have your live account banned.

  3. Not a cure Says:

This new firmware will NOT allow the console to be magically unbanned, this is just a new version for any consoles that have not been banned or for any banned console owners to use on a new console. At least thats what I think they were saying. No way to “Cure” a console.

  4. crack1110 Says:

really good question , my xbox sez that the console is banned , the only way atm is to use the infectus thingy to unban it trough an other cpu key
how will changing the firmware of the drive fix the ban?!
is it going to send (magical) signals wich bypasses the ban?! (i don’t think so >.<)
anyways i hope that it will work (yay)

  5. Goblin Says:

screw em modders of consoles should be banned and stay that way , its what they deserve

  6. Sun Tzu Says:

One million ticked of customers…time for a new..network of 1 million banned x-boxes to play together..without Microsoft..Some coder out there can make it happen..

  7. Anonymous Says:

you can play online if your banned if you have DD-WRT on your router it takes some practice but can be done because it can act like its doing a local network so anyone that has silver memberships can play and anyone thats banned can play together assuming the router there going through has DD-WRT firmware

  8. anonymous Says:

Doesn’t matter if ur account is banned, yu subscribe for a new one when yu would have to renew. That is if these will work!
