Active Media Products is surely going to need a lawyer over this silly USB flash drive. Sure, it is possible that Sarah Palin agreed to have her image used to market AMP’s new “Wink” USB flash drive, (It wouldn’t be the stupidest thing she’s ever done) but chances are that’s not the case.

In any event, this thing is being touted as the world’s smallest 16GB flash drive and it’s waterproof too. It measures 1.2 x 0.5 x 0.1 inches. It’s available now for $7.95 for 2GB. 16 GB will cost you $37.95. So who wants a face on their flash drive?

About a week ago, the first specifications for the HD 5970 video card from AMD tipped up. The full specs weren’t leaked but we did get a few general specifications of the card. We found out that it will have dual GPUs and will have 2GB of RAM.

Today the price of the video card leaked online when it was published early by ZipZoomFly. The card will reportedly sell for $599.99. That is no surprise I figured the card would be at least $500.

Music games are still doing well and the most recent version of Rock Band is The Beatles: Rock Band. The game has proven to be popular and MTV and Harmonix are set to launch the second DLC pack for the game tomorrow.

The new DLC content will hit the Xbox 360 tomorrow and the PS3 on November 19. The new content is the Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band. The content will be available per song for $1.99 each or as an entire album.

The Jaguar supercomputer at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory was recently upgraded with new AMD processors that gave it enough performance to move up the top 5 supercomputers list. The Jaguar is a Cray XT5 supercomputer and is now the fastest machine in the world.

Jaguar previously used quad-core AMD processors and was upgraded to 6-core processors. The new upgrade gives the supercomputer a theoretical peak performance of 2.3 petaflops/s. The performance on the Linpack benchmark was 1.75 petaflops/second.

One of my all time favorite PC cases from Cooler Master was the Stacker wearing the NVIDIA green color for the trim. The special edition case was great for NVIDIA fans. Cooler Master has now unveiled a new case aimed at the AMD fan called the HAF 932 AMD edition.

The case has black with red trim and a clear side window with a frosted AMD dragon and AMD Fusion logo. The chassis also has red LED lights inside. Other features of the case are the same as the original HAF 932 chassis. The drive bays are tooless and the case has a removable HDD rack.

Intel’s latest i5/i7 processors and P55/X58 chipsets will give you some nice performance and both USB 3.0 and SATA III are backward compatible so your system will have a longer life as well.

Hyundai has two new 3D LCD monitors for the European market. The 22-inch W220S and the 24-inch W240S. Both monitors come complete with polarized glasses to insure that you look your dorkiest while taking in that sweet 3D.

Some other features include a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, two 3W speakers, a D-Sub port, a DVI port and an HDMI port. The W220S has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels with a 5ms response time, while the W240S offers a higher resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels with 6ms response time.

If you’ve been wondering when we might see 3TB drives arriving, the answer is soon. At least according to Dr Geoff Barrall, founder and CEO of Drobo. He says that Drobos will be offering a 3TB drive by April 2010. Drobo uses Western Digital drives, so there’s a good chance that it could mean that Western Digital will be outing some 3TB drives of their own very soon.

Currently Western Digital offers a 2TB Caviar Black 3.5-inch SATA drive. A 3TB, 4-platter drive would need 750GB per platter – a 50 per cent increase over what the Caviar Black has.

A sibling to the Galaxy, the i5700 has been rumored for a while. Now it has been made official by Samsung and dubbed the Galaxy Spica. Samsung’s latest Android-powered handset is just 13.2mm thick and features a 3.5mm jack, an 800MHz core, and built-in DivX support.

According to Samsung, it’s already out in Europe and will be coming to the Middle East and Asia shortly.

This musical Star Trek Enterprise lamp is superior to this one in almost every way. It says Star Trek, is actually from Star Trek and the Enterprise looks just like it should.

City streets could do with a makeover where lighting and trash are concerned. Designer Haneum Lee thinks he has the solution to both. This concept could keep streets lit while keeping them relatively trash free. The base of the street lights are trash baskets that turn what they can into compost, using methane to generate the power needed to keep the lights going.

It could definitely work, especially in large cities, since there is no shortage of trash. We love to see concepts that kill two birds with one stone or two problems with a single idea.

When YouTube unveiled the ability to upload and stream 720p video last year, it started off a bit slow, which is to be expected, with only 1% of the uploaded videos taking advantage of it. But now that number is approaching 10%, so YouTube has announced that it will increase the maximum resolution of videos to 1080p.

Awesome news yes? The company is vowing to let users stream video that looks as good or better than the source quality. According to YouTube Director of Product Management Hunter Walk, the company is re-encoding all the 1080p videos that have been uploaded over the past year, and they’re about halfway through already.
